Hello!
Many of you are probably fans of zork's Roth UI! Though he plans no more maintenance to it in Legion, I am here to wipe those tears from your face!
If not, this UI is a complete (or near complete) replacement for the standard Blizzard UI. While some things such as character info screen and menus are not replaced, most of the constantly visible UI elements are.
This will replace your actionbars with a 3-tier stacking set of action bars with a Diablo3 style background, replace the normal WoW actionbar artwork with a Diablo style Angel and Demon, replace the player frame with a set of Health and Power (mana/rage/energy/etc) orbs, and completely re-skin the target, target's target, party, raid, focus, boss and other Unit Frames with Diablo-esque style framework.
It will also replace the standard WoW Rune, Combo Point, Harmony, Soul Shard and Holy Power bars with ones more fitting to the UI's look and feel.
My revival of the UI features constant updating and support, quick reponses to questions and many new/improved features!
Among some of those notable changes are...
1. Raid frames will now track healing abilities!
Priests can easily track Renew, PW:Shield and more, Druids will easily see who has Rejuv and such! Almost exclusively playing a healer has made me tapper this addon back to our needs! Each healer has a variety of abilities they will easily track on the raid frames, and the best part is.. It will only display YOUR buffs, and only for YOUR class!
2. Vertical Party frames!
Many people in the past have disabled the Roth UI party and raid frames due to 3 simple reasons: Lack of customization, lack of buff/debuff tracking for healers and being stuck on those horizontal party frames! But fear not, if you wish to keep those horizontal party frames, there's an option in the config to disable the vertical ones!
3. Independantly movable Raid frames!
One of my biggest issues with the Roth UI raid frames was their clunkyness. It does make setup abit easier, but let's be honest, no one liked moving all the groups in the raid frame at once. Now you get to move them all individually!
4. Health and mana % on target health/power bars, and cur/max for both on the left and right top corners!
I've added a few text strings to the target healthbar, and made it slightly longer by default. This should help you easily tell what % and how much HP a boss has, aswell as making finding healers in BG's a tad bit easier (note: They are the ones with 160k instead of 32k max mana :P)
5. Updated AuraWatch!
This is a rather simple one, the version of Aurawatch used in the last version of Roth UI was rather outdated, i've updated it, and worked with the addon developer directly to incorporate a few new features aswell, special to Roth UI!
There are many many more small changes, as I customized this addon entierly to my playstyle and PC setup (screen size etc). You may find some UI elements too big or small for your liking, or some things in the wrong place. I'm more than happy to help you out by telling you what to edit to get your desired result, but you have to do the work.
Other than bug fixes and major features, I will not update Roth UI simply for things like changing default scale sizes or text string locations.
(This does mean new updates will likely overwrite your changes, though if you are concerned about this, I will provide links to Github commits for each update, so you can see where the changes take place, and protect your precious config.lua settings)
Also note: Between my light raiding schedule, full time work and full time school, I don't have extraordinary amounts of time to work on Roth UI, bug fixes will usually be fixed within a few days of finding them, but new features will not be added for much longer. Some features will not even be considered, such as expanding the /diablo config panel or adding a profile system.
If you have a simple question, I will attempt to get back to you within a day, if not sooner!

Sould Shards and Combo Points are still not working 100% as intended, but I've published an update that will 'hotfix' the issues while I work on a more permanent solution.
Soul Shards - For Demo/Afflic are unchanged. For Destro; When you have a partially filled shard, all of the shards that are not full will appear green instead of Purple, I'm working on fixing this so only the next shard that is empty will be green, insteadof all empty ones. Combo Points - The ComboBar should now correctly display 5, 6 or 10 combo points depending on your Level 45 talent choice, however a /reload will be required upon login or talent changes to reflect the updated max value. I am working on a fix that will dynamically update this, but otherwise it's 100% functional. I also fixed an issue caused when loading Bartender4 whilst disabling rActionBarStyler, that caused the actionbar background to revert to it's default 1 actionbar artwork. It will instead now default to 3 actionbars and 2 'rep' bars (IE: Rep, artifact power, exp) if you want to change the artwork it defaults to, you can change line 61 in "units/player.lua" from Code:
t:SetTexture(mediapath.."actionbar_3_2") The actionbars are named by size, the first # is how many actionbars you have, the second is how many rep bars, for 3_3 it is "all", then 3_2, 3_1, 3_0, 2_3, 2_2, 2_1, 2_0, 1_3, 1_2, 1_1, 1_0

A temporary fix for the bartender issue is to go into the config and simply leave "rActionBarStyler" set to true, it doesn't seem to interfere with bt4 from what I can tell, and I'm not sure why but disabling it while BT4 is loaded causes the bug, I am working on a fix for this for the next update.

PS: I'm still working on an update to fix the rogue and warlock issues, no ETA, the oUF developer has changed how oUF handles class powers within oUF itself and everyone refuses to help me fix my code and instead keep insisting that I re-write the entire class power system to accommodate the new oUF version. >.>

I've tried a few times and it seems that it only happens while using bartender, indeed. Is there anything I can do to help you solve this problem ?

I'm havin an issue with my DH. Hasn't happened on my warrior or my paladin and i've been playin in groups with them. I got a constant every 2 second LUA error about unit frames. like 14 pages long. I close it and it opens immediately 2 seconds later. It's killing my enjoyment of the UI

I'm however unable to duplicate your issue with the actionbar background, does it only exhibit this behaviour when you are using bartender instead of the builtin actionbar addon?

I've been dealing with some irl issues and I don't actively play wow anymore, I will set aside some time to look into these issues as best I can and will get back with an update later guys.

Hello,
I've a few bugs to report. First, the background of the actionbars is always set as if there was only one bar at anytime. I've tried to toggle on and off some bars in the game options, even if I use Bartender anyway, but that doesn't change much. Sometimes I'll get the three bars background, most of the time only one, but I want two ! It seems that it randomly fixes itself after a loading screen, and so far it always does after a respec or if I toggle any reputation bar. It would be nice if it worked properly without needing those tricks... Next, the combo bar : while using the "deeper strategeme" talent as a rogue (which allows to have a maximum of 6 combo points), the combo bar only displays 5. I need to reload everytime I connect that character and switching talent doesn't change anything without reloading. If I choose the "anticipation" talent (which allows to have a maximum of 10 combo points but you can only use 5 at a time), there's no way to tell how many combo points I have above 5. In fact, when I hit 5 the color changes, but as soon as I get more combo points, it's displays the base color instead. Basically, 4 combo points = yellow, 5 = red, 6+ = yellow and there's no way to tell if I have 6 or 10. If this could help you to fix this, back in the days, I think Zork used a different coloring for anticipation points that you could change in the config.lua. Since 7.2.5, destruction warlock also got a revamp of their ressource. It works mostly like it used to, back in MoP. Spells generate soul shards fragments. If I remember well, 10 soul shards fragments = 1 full soul shard. Again, Zork had found a solution when destruction warlocks used burning ambers. You could watch the burning ambers filling themselves. I can't explain any better since english is not my mother tongue. Lastly, I've done some PvP recently and realized there was no arena portrait. In battlegrounds, I had no way to see the flag carrier for example. Hope you're doing well and still lurking around ! |

Zone Name & Coordinates
Somehow whenever I am playing on my Paladin the Zone name and Coordinates are missing. The moment I log onto any other of my characters they appear back right underneath the minimap.
How do I re-enable the Zone name and coordinate information back on my paladin? I tried looking up the WTF folder and under the Saved Variables and looked at the respective .txt files but couldn't make sense of it sadly. Thanks for your reply. |
