Dailies Quest Tracker  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 4.0.1 [BETA]
by: Fritos [More]

This is a Broker Dailies Quest Tracker Addon, that will keep track of the dailies that you have done for the day. All libraries are included. You will need to have some sort of Broker container in order to use this addon. (I.E. Fortress, DockingStation, NinjaPanel, etc..)

  • Shift-Left-Clicking on a quest title, will paste the quest link in the chat-box.
  • Control-Left-Clicking a quest title will open that quest within the Quest Log. This will only work if you currently have the quest.
  • Left-Clicking the Broker icon will open your Quest Log.
  • Right-Clicking the Broker icon will open the settings for Dailies Quest Tracker.
  • You can track multiple toons (Horde/Alliance) to keep track of dailies done on all of them. Right now, if you have characters with the same names on different realms, issues may arise with tracking.
  • Filter out groups you have no interest in watching.
  • Shows reputation from factions and will color the faction based on your current standings. You can also display your current standings in the group headers.
  • If you have any announcement addons (Scrolling Combat Text, Blizzard UI, Parrot) you can have it announce to those scrollers.

** UPDATE Version 4.0.1 [BETA] 9/27/9**
This is a BETA, if you don't like testing buggy addons. Then PLEASE wait for a stable release.
  • Added Horde "Call To Arms" battleground dailies
  • Added Brewfest
  • Fixed Daily Timer not showing if resetting less than a hour
  • Fixed Battleground Holidays not showing
  • Fixed some graphical glitches
  • Added Hodir Badges to 5-Player Normal dailies
  • Added 'Identifying the Remains' daily to Argent Tournament and corrected the total counts

** BUGS/ISSUE First remedy **
PLEASE delete DailiesQuestTracker saved variables first if you are running into errors. ALOT has changed and you have been forewarned.

Localizations are in the works and will happen, but as of right now this version will only work on ENGLISH clients.

For some reason DQT won't show up at all for me. I'm Alliance on an English server. DQT shows up in my addon list and is selected for the current toon, but it doesn't appear in game. I reinstalled it and no luck, installed fubar and no luck. I accepted daily quests after logging in for the first time after installing it in case it needed to be kicked a bit... still nada. Typing /dqt is unrecognized. The last version of DQT would show up for me but didn't work out because of the conflict with QuestGuru.

Currently I'm running Auctioneer, Prat, QuestGuru, Cartographer, QuestHelper, Bartender, Factionizer, Ackis Recipe List, Advanced Trade Skill Window, Bagnon, EquipCompare, Gatherer, Livestock, Omen, OmniCC, and simpleMinimap. Are there any known conflicts in there?

I know this is a Beta, so please don't think I'm complaining at all, just trying to figure things out.

Thanks so much for all of your hard work!

Okay, I'm a bit confused. Is it not tracking the actual daily or are you saying it's not tracking when you get the meats/mushrooms? DQT doesn't track when you obtain items, it only watches the daily itself. Also, if you already had the quest in your log before turning on DQT, it will not pick it up. You need to abandon it a re obtain it. I'll do a better check in an update for this.

Also, if your wanting visual alerts, you need to turn this on under Announcements by R-Clicking the broker icon and choose which you want announced.

Also, for for sanity check! Are you Alliance/Horde and are you running an ENGLISH client?
I'm Alliance running on an English client. I do have one horde character on the same (RP) server with my Alliance characters who could try DQT as well. I also have other characters with same names on other servers so this may be a problem for me eventually although I seldom play on those other servers.

Regarding not tracking a current daily, you hit the target. I had a previously existing daily that wasn't detected after DQT installation.

About DQT not tracking the items in my quests, I think I messed up what I was trying to say. It's not counting the items I collect if the items aren't counted in the default quest log. I should have said counted/counting in the first place. They are specified in the quest text/description itself (collect 2 Chilled Meats and 4 Mushrooms). I was hoping to see DQT actually fix this oversight and count the items we need to collect. It didn't count them in previous versions as I recall. Go ahead and ignore my comment about this since you mentioned these aren't counted. My bad on my choice of words.

As far as my completing the quest, DQT worked without issue. The previously existing quest was noted when completed.

* Quest item counts for Infused Mushroom Meatloaf (Dal cooking daily) do not track. Specifically, mushroom and meat counts are not tracked. Then again, not even QuestHelper tracks these.

* Current (old in this case) daily quests are not detected. I have the "Blood Is Thicker" fishing quest (Friday's quest) from Dal on my list but DQT did not detect this and is not showing it as active or monitoring it.

Hehehe.. Thanks for the sense of humor. Alot of the dailies (I.E post patch 3.1 aren't in the version on here), Horde dailies don't work except for the same as Alliance ones. This all should be fixed in the new version or close after release.

But it's really getting closer, I promise. Here's a SS of how it looks:

Right now, I'm having some issues with DQT needing alot of memory (mind you it's crunching alot of data and I want it to be pleasant to the eye, I'm a visual person. So...). Although currently, it's not as much an issue with Garabage Collection taking over when it gets too high. But I just trying to finalize some stuffers.

reading back one more page, you can find a post by xtog that says,

Backup your DQT files first. Open DailiesQuestTracker.lua in a plain text editor such as Notepad. Find line 74 that looks like this:

-- Set Debugger
local DailiesDebugEnabled = true

And change the "true" to "false" (without the quotes). No more spam.

this solution works for me.

Thanks for reporting this, I've tested QuestGuru (current version on here) with the new version of Dailies Quest Tracker and had no issues.

I was able to select the quest through DQT (by clicking the quest in DQT to show it in QuestGuru) and then able to select a different quest. Also I could just select a quest in QuestGuru and was able to select a different quest.

Looks as though you won't have to worry about this in the new DQT.

I had the same problem. Didn't mention it here as it seems to be more of a QuestGuru issue, as the problem does not occur when using QG 1.1 and DQT 3.1.4 together.

Replacing QG 1.2 with 1.1 will also solve the problem, making it possible to run both addons together.

Problem with QuestGuru 1.2

I don't see it mentioned here, so I will post it so that you can (hopefully) make sure that it is resolved in your new (soon to be released!!!) version. Of course, I mean if it is something in DQT that can be changed to resolve it. I also posted this information on the curse.com QuestGuru page.

Since the latest version 1.2 of QuestGuru (version 1.1 didn't have this problem), if DQT 3.1.4 beta is also loaded and enabled, then when the QG quest log window is opened the last quest listed is selected and locked. By that I mean that no other quests in the log listing can be selected and viewed, by clicking or other means.

Unloading or disabling DQT stops this from happening, as does of course going back to QG 1.1.

If you think there might possibly be something you can do about it, I hope you have time to check it out.
Thank you SO much!

I do have some Horde members that are helping me consolidate the Horde dailies, which was sorely missing in most version of Dailies Quest Tracker.

One of the issues that I'm trying to decide on is Wintergrasp. Although they are no longer 'Dailies' per say and have moved to Weeklies (Uggh!), I think people would like these tracked. So I'm figuring a way to keep them integrated into DQT and still make them weeklies.

It's abit more involved then just that, but I'll keep it simple in the explanation on Wintergrasp.
