Walkthrough:
- Download and install the addon by placing the RelationalDKP folder in your WoW Addons folder.
- Log-on with your main character (the character you want all DKP to be associated with)
Don't worry if you want to change the association later, you can change it at will. (see below)
- To see the UI, open up a chat/console line and type "/rdkp".
Below the image you will find what each button does.
Main UI:

Raid Info UI:
Instructions:
The information gathering and communication should happen automatically.
- Slash Commands:
- /rdkp
- Brings up the UI, default view: Priority page.
- /rdkp_resetall
- Resets all settings data on the local client and begins request for updates from other clients. Use this if there's some data corruption in settings or the like. DOES NOT ERASE TRANSACTIONS.
- UI Layout buttons:
- "Priority"
- Normal Guild Ranked User:
- This is the default view, and where the they can see their standings compared to other guild members. View includes their DKP & Gear Value numbers, in addition to their Priority for drops.
All characters will be sorted first by their Priority, and then Alphabetically by their character name. Additional sorting options will come later.
- Guild Officers:
- Additionaly, (anyone who can edit the Officers Notes through the Blizzard Guild UI) have the ability to manually adjust any characters DKP and Gear values. Just click on the given character, a detail view will appear. Then click on the adjust boxes below the appropriate value and a dialog will appear requesting how much the value should be changed by. From here, you can either save the changes by clicking on the appropriate button, or cancel them by just closing the detail view frame.
- Raid Leader:
- There are 4 check boxes available on this frame:
- Show in Raid:
- This will filter the priority list by only those characters who are presently participating in the Raid.
- Show on Tells:
- When the above is also checked, it will filter by only those people in the raid, who have sent you a whisper/tell since the box was checked. This is useful for quickly filtering who wants an item. The list will auto-update on each whisper, and will automatically sort by priority.
- Hide Alts:
- Reduces the list to only show those characters who are listed as "mains." This means that most of the extra Priority 0 folks because their DKP & GR values are redirected to their main character will be hidden.
- Show Hidden:
- This shows characters that have been marked "hidden" by guild administration. These are folks who have probably left the guild or were Pick-Ups during a run, but don't want them cluttering up the normal listing.
- "Show Raids"
- All members:
- Provides a list of all the raids presently in the transaction database. This is a display of the tables that are used to store all the DKP/GR (and by extension priority) data, much like a monetary register (like Quicken or MS Money). Every adjustment to everyones DKP & GR values can be viewed here. Sorted by RaidID.
- Officers:
- Provides additional feature to destroy raids. This eliminates an entire raid from being counted in member's Priority. All transactions related to that raid are deleted, and are unrecoverable.
- "Start Raid" or "End Raid"
- By default, any user can run a raid, however this is adjustable in the settings to limit it to only Guild Officers. DKP over time is awarded in 1 pt increments divided over the hour. Points for kills and loot is automatically factored in by the addon and awarded by the RL. The RL must have this addon for the system to work.
- "This is my Main"
- At this point, all DKP & GR is awarded to a single main character. By default, it's the first character for this account that the Addon knows about. However, to change this, merely click on this button while logged in with the character you want to actually be the main character tracked.
- "Select All"
- Selects all the available characters in the UI with the current filter.
Setting DKP & GR values
- How much should we set DKP for Kills and Time? Why are the defaults set the way they are?
- By default most bosses are set for a DKP value of 5. I don't suggest using a value of only 1, but rather choose something that it is easy to have multiples of and that if you find one boss is consistently harder, or drops more, you can raise or lower the value appropriately. Maybe you feel that C'Thun or Patchwerk or Illidan is more difficult than some of the other bosses you have to deal with, then make their numbers higher, rather than 5, try 10 or more, to reward those people who've worked their way through the entire instance.
But you could also adjust the time value to reward people for the particularly long-hard crawls, or while first learning a raid. 5 hour runs and not even completing the first boss? Then by default, you'll get 5 DKP. But perhaps during the learning curve time, you choose as the GM/Officer, to raise that reward. That's up to you.
- How 'bout GR values? Why are some drops set for 0, while others are so high?
- Think of the GR values as relative values to other items. Some guilds use the Item Level as listed at wowhead, or thottbot, others have an arbitrary value based on difficulty of the boss. In order to compromise for performance and manageability, I use gear quality dropped in various instances, since they'll be of similar value.
- What is a good value for the Threshold number? Do I need to even use that part?
- I would see how many DKP per raid, and then set the threshold value to be between 5 and 10 full clears of your main multi-boss instance (we used ZG/MC/etc for our model). Obviously Ony/Gruul may be a bad example since they only have 1 or 2 bosses, but also in theory, you should be able to get through it faster once you're succeeding.
If you don't want to use a threshold, then set it to 0, and DKP & GR values will just continue to raise. We found that method problematic in our guild, so hence the threshold was implemented.
- What makes a good Adjustment value?
- I like the default personally, as it keeps people floating in the 200-300 DKP value when using the default Threshold setting. Setting the adjustment ammount to 50% would also work, you'd see a wider shift of values, but as more and more of your guild fall into that category, I believe you'll see a good balancing of loot distribution.
