Stuf Unit Frames (and Raid)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.2.101
by: totalpackage, Uitat

Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.

Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character

Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

Notable Features:
  • Easy transition from Blizzard default frames
  • Cast bars for the main units
  • Dispellable debuff visual
  • Target and focus timer bars for your buffs/debuffs
  • Threat bars on target and focus
  • Shaman totem timers, Death Knight rune bars, and Druid mana bar
  • Low memory and CPU usage compared to popular unit frame mods
  • Customization similar to Discord Unit Frames
  • LibSharedMedia-3.0 support for textures and fonts
  • Ace3 dialog config is used for the options GUI
  • Stuf_Range - LibRangeCheck-2.0 support for estimated distance on target and focus
  • Clique support for click-casting
  • ClassColors custom class color and ConfigMode support for one-button-config
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icon skins (may be buggy)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Figures it's the "easy" option that I overlooked. Thanks for the quick reply, I assumed that if I messed with the base frame size everything else would be majorly effected.

Unit Frame Clickthrough

Is there any functionality to allow unit frames to be "click through"?

I set up a HUD system on my tank, and the lack of being able to click things right in the middle of the screen tends to take away from ease of tanking.

Thanks for the help.

I'm not getting that problem. Check if something is covering the text or try shortening the text.

It is a bug, but nothing serious. You disabled your target frame but have group number text enabled. Change one of those and the error should go away.

Getting error during Uluar raid

Hello,

I'm still new to using Stuf but like it so far. I was just in a Ulduar a short while ago and I kept getting the following errors. I'm hoping that I might just not have something set up correctly. Please check these out and let me know what you think.

[2009/10/12 20:34:00-1658-x53]: Stuf-3.2.005\icons.lua:238: attempt to index field 'target' (a nil value)

Stuf-3.2.005\core.lua:304: in function `?'
Stuf-3.2.005\core.lua:102: in function <Interface\AddOns\Stuf\core.lua:101>

Stuf-3.2.005\core.lua:102: in function <Interface\AddOns\Stuf\core.lua:101>

---

The second and third error look almost the same except for the 4th line.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks so much for the response. Worked like a charm.

I did run into a problem (not related). I was adjusting the size of my Stuf Raid Frames and some how my Group 1 line is gone. There is no group 1 frame at all outside of the preview. Any idea what could be causing this?

Play with the basic health bar settings and you'll figure it out.

Umm, all frames share the same border texture, but each frame have their own display settings. If that's not the answer to your question, then no.

I was wondering if it was possible to color a raid frame black if the person is dead/ghost/dc? If so, how can I go about doing it?
Play with the inactive fade alpha and base color in the global options.

Thanks in advanced. This is by far the best Unit Frame mod I've used.

Bah, thanks for the reply. Guess the oRA3 people have decided to do their "own thing" and that's the reason the frames don't work Oh well, no biggie.

'helpful' is for units that you can assist (someone on whom you're allowed to cast a helpful spell). NPCs in any faction are not always assist-able, and you can tell if they are PVP-enabled for most of the time. Try [custom_ifnot_attackable:level] (for units you can't attack) or [custom_ifnot_enemy:level] (for units not considered to be an enemy). 'enemy' is a hidden tag for some reason, and I'll add it to the tag list.

See "Pattern Tag Help". I usually do not give freebies to avoid spoiling people, but here's one to hopefully get you started: [custom_if_dnd:I am anti-social!]

Don't know what's causing that serious error. Did you enable saving per character and if so, does the error happen to all of your characters?
* If no, then run this script on the character having the problem:
Code:
/run StufCharDB=nil ReloadUI()
* If yes or other, then run this script to start over (sorry):
Code:
/run StufDB=nil ReloadUI()
Stuf must be enabled while running those scripts. If it happens again, please provide steps to reproduce the error.
