CoolLine  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 8.0.002
by: totalpackage, Phanx, Uitat

CoolLine is a spell/item cooldown mod that displays icons on a single bar/line to give you an idea of when it will be ready. No statusbar timer and no text timer.

CoolLine is inspired by Forte_Cooldown (a module in the ForteXorcist package). CoolLine is basically a stripped down and standalone version written from scratch. The name comes from putting "cooldown" and "timeline" together (yes, lame).

YouTube Intro

How to Use

  • Change settings - "/coolline" or check Interface Options -> AddOns
  • Change position and size - unlock to make it draggable and resizable
  • Filter/unfilter a spell or item cooldown - "/coolline Spell Item Name Link"
  • Add more fonts/texture - CoolLine uses LibSharedMedia

External Support
  • CoolLine.NewCooldown(name, icon, endtime, isplayer)
    • name - unique string id of the cooldown, used as a look-up id
    • icon - string icon path used to display image on the bar
    • endtime - numerical time when the icon should expire, based on GetTime()
    • isplayer - boolean value used to determine if the icon is colored by spell
  • CoolLine.ClearCooldown(unused, name)

Notes
  • Only one spell/item will be shown in an event that multiple spells/items share the same cooldown (whichever appeared first).
  • By design, icons will often overlap; if you do not like it, this type of cooldown mod is not for you.
  • What you see is what you get. If you like the idea of this mod but want more, I highly suggest checking out ForteXorcist or Ellipsis. I'll most likely ignore requests to make CoolLine more similar to them.
  • CoolLine only does spell/item cooldowns and NOT buff/debuff cooldowns, flight timers, time til enrage, etc; this will NOT change so don't ask.

Recently, I (TotalPackage) had some requests for donation info, so here it is. Do not feel obligated; donations (or lack of) will not determine what features I do or do not implement.

May I make a feature request?

Add a "disable vehicle" option to CoolLine. When I'm in a Vehicle, I don't really need to see its cooldowns -- they're right there on the action bar.

Hello!
At first: thx for the addon.

But one small problem: Mangle (Bear) doesn't show up on the coolline. Is there a way to fix this?

They host the mods on their own servers...Try researching first before spewing BS

To get your AddOns listed in WowMatrix, simply contact us via the Feedback Form for full instructions. We will then have your AddOns uploaded to our servers at no charge.

Linking to Your Site

If you already have your own website, we can still host the AddOns on our servers, if you wish, so that we can cover the bandwidth costs for AddOn downloads. We will still be able to point to your website when users wish to visit the official site.

Author Login Area

We are also in the process of coming up with an author admin area where you will be able to login and upload new versions of your AddOns to our servers at any time. Over time we will be adding new features including statistics tracking and a helpdesk system for your users.

Elegant Donation System

If you accept donations, you will be pleased with our innovative and elegant donation reminder system, which has been praised by authors and users alike. By taking advantage of this system, you will see a significant increase in the number of donations, and even more so when new versions are released.

Free of Charge

All of the above features are completely free for AddOn authors, and we have more in the works.

Wowmatrix is the devil. Download your mods from their host sites, don't be party to stealing other people's bandwidth while bypassing their ads. You like these mods? Then get them from WowInterface or Curse.com, legitimate hosting sites where the author community is supported, not ripped off.

Any chance you could allow Wowmatrix to index your fantastic addon? They wont currently with "All Rights Reserved". It would make it so much easier to stay current with your addon.

Thanks

CoolLine only accepts name and links, not ID. Try it with a link. Sorry, I cannot test it to make sure.

Nope, that's been asked many times and has been denied many times. Performance is priority for CoolLine. If you want that feature, look at the alternatives mentioned in the description.

EDIT: Many thanks for the Priest spell workarounds. It seems Blizzard really has it in for us. First we have to nag everyone to click the Lightwell and now addon authors have to jump through hoops to get the cooldowns of our new spells.

I was able to find a workaround for the Holy Word issue. I also fixed Archangel.

Any way to add ICD's to the addon? If this could track my trinkets ICD's it would probably be perfect.
ICD should be its own separate mod that could possible send info to CoolLine. Since it requires a library of data and constant maintenance, I'm not interested in making one.
