Clean Icons - Thin  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Shadowlands 9.0.2 (Build 36639)
by: suicidalkatt [More]

I got tired of seeing old pre-BC styled icons mixed with BC and WoTLK icons so I decided to batch process all the icons into a clean format.

...have been altered.

This may seem like a large filesize, however this does not use any cpu usage or additional memory usage than simply running without it.

This also extends to any addon that uses the default game icons such as Power Auras Classic.

The prepatch (which has all the new icons) is already live, any chance we could get an update soon?

Legion build?!

Two things.

1. Ever since I used your Ultimate Shaman UI I can't use anything else.
2. There is no update for Legion.

I love this UI.. and I'll love you if you make an update for it. Because it's amazing.

For the Shamans, THINK OF THE SHAMANS! PLEASE!

No but really, CAN'T WAIT! Standard WoW sucks! Haha

Be patient guys.

This isn't like an addon where you just fix a line or two of code and it's done. The author has to basically put the icons in photoshop and skin it themselves. All of the new ones.

Love the work you do, thanks for keeping this updated!

I tried to make them myself for all the new trinkets using BLPView to see them in my wow folder and then BLPConverter, just a command line program, to turn PNGs into BLP and I got it to the point where it does show the icon in the folder as a BLP, and it's viewable in the folder view with windows, but in game it only shows as a neon green square.
I actually created a very in depth how-to right here on wowinterface.com.

Check here: http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=48375
Just now noticed this. Gonna give this a shot tonight. I use Clean Icons - Thin and a few of the Enhance Shaman icons being different than the rest is bugging me!

Okay. Got it done. All icons are CLEAN ICONS - THIN! Yay! I'll place a link here to my Google Drive if suicidalkatt gives the go ahead. Or if he wants I can give it to him to do what he pleases.

Any chance you could share this with us now? I'm on a Mac and can't extract the textures myself, and suicidalkatt seems inactive.

I've been in the modding community for quite some time (Elder Scrolls series, Minecraft, etc) and one thing I've learned is to get permission from a mod/addon author before attempting to redistribute their stuff. I don't think I have to, but it's a matter of respect for me. Give him some time. Not everyone comes here and checks posts on a daily or hourly basis (like I tend to do).

Suicidalkatt, I noticed in your tutorial you did showing how you make the icons you have issues with photoshop slightly renaming the filenames (replacing spaces with -). This can be fixes in photoshop. It's because photoshop makes the filename UNIX compatible. You can fix this by doing the following. I'm using CS6 so of course things may be slightly different.

When choosing "Save for Web" click on the "Optimize Menu" button and choose "Edit Output Settings"

In the second drop-down (probably has HTML by default, choose "Saving Files". Then deselect "Unix":

This will keep photoshop from replacing the spacing in file names.

If this is something you have already figured out since making your tutorial, let me know so I can delete this post. I didn't want to post it in there for fear of it being considered a necro. Thanks!

@Greevir

Did you encounter any issue with PS freezing/hanging/crashing when doing batch icon mods?

It's the only thing preventing me from doing them myself.

Not at all. Only issue I had was the first time I tried it I left one of the small err non-icon icons in there and PS gave me one of those (could not whatever cause the area was empty) crap. So I just restarted the process where it left off. Just make sure when making your action script to include closing the image out, else PS will end up with thousands of images open and will crash.

Hmm, that's pretty cool. Thanks for that.

I'm doing the final conversion to BLP then I'll be repackaging these.

Hey Greevir,

I hope my update doesn't discourage your work you put into this. Nothing motivates me more than seeing my fans appreciate the work I do. I hope you found my tutorial informative and you learned a bit about photoshop's batch processing as well.

Please, if you have your own theme ideas for icons, GIVE IT A SHOT!! Nothing is more rewarding than seeing your own work be useful.

Not discouraged at all! And yes, tutorial was very helpful. I never played around with batch processing before. It's pretty handy.
