Please post all errors and suggestions on http://grayhoof.wowinterface.com/ using the provided forms.
Be sure to check out my simple but enhanced combat log EavesDrop
Also check out SCTD if you want SCT to show your damage.
What is it? - A fairly simple but very configurable mod that adds damage, heals, and events (dodge, parry, windfury, etc...) as scrolling text above you character model, much like what already happens above your target. This makes it so you do not have to watch (or use) your regular combat chat window and gives it a "Final Fantasy" feel.
What can it do?
- Damage messagesHow do I use it? - First unzip it into your interface\addons directory. For more info on installing, please read install.txt. Now just run WoW and once logged in, type /sctmenu to get the options screen.
- Heals (incoming and outgoing) and Overhealing (with healer ID's), with filtering for small heals.
- Spell Damage/Resists and Damage Type
- All "Miss" events (dodge, block, immune, etc...)
- Custom Colors for all text events
- Config file to setup custom events (self and target), capture data, and display it.
- Debuff/Buff gain and loss Messages
- Low Health and Mana Warnings with values, and optional sounds
- Rage/Mana/Energy Gains
- Enter and Leave Combat Messages
- Rogue Combo Points, 5 CP Alert Message
- Class Skill alerts (Execute, Overpower, CounterAttack, etc...)
- Honor, Reputation, Skill Gain
- Eight Animation Types (Verticle, Rainbow, Horizontal, Angled Down, Angled Up, Sprinkler, Curved HUD, Angled HUD)
- Four Fonts
- Two seperate Animation frames, each with their own settings. Assign any Event to either.
- Ability to flag any event as critical or as a text messages
- Sliders for text size, opacity, animation speed, movement speed, and on screen placement (with custom editbox)
- Lightmode, for when you care most about performance (at the loss of a few features).
- Now Based in Ace3.
- Settings saved per character by default, but supports all Ace3 Profiles
- Load/Delete settings from another character. Load built in Profiles.
- Localized to work in almost all WoW clients.

Quick Healing Complaint
I've been using SCT along with SCTD for a while now and it's amazing on my DPS classes. However, it's an entirely different matter when it comes to healing. There's only one problem with it, it shows the name of who you heal. So, basically what happens is: 'Ricktarr - Scarlet Crusade: 1536.' It'd be perfect without that, now with the cross-realm dungeons their names take up so much space on the screen. I personally enjoy seeing how much I heal for and watching HoT ticks but I'm unable to do so as long as there's no function to turn off the target's name.
I know you can turn on nameplates, but being a stubborn perfectionist, I just can't settle for that. So, I made an account just to plea for you to add that function in a newer update of it, if that's a possibility of course. Thanks again for all your hard work on this addon, I really do love it. |

After riffling through dozens of addons that I use due to a really annoying hitching after spell casts I determined it was SCT.
After every long spell cast I get a 1 second hitch where things freeze then resume. I disable SCT and it's fine. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but thought I'd mention as I had to disable this. |

Re: Re: Re: Re: blizzard healing disabled
You don't have the latest version of SCT installed. 6.51 specifically fixes this issue, and I can tell you don't have it installed because the line numbers in your error messages don't match with 6.51

Re: Re: Re: blizzard healing disabled
I wish I could figure out how to fix SCT though. Right now it literally causes the entire game to lock up momentarily whenever you gain a soul shard as a warlock. |

blizzard healing disabled
hey I love the addon thanks for updating it. I just tested and sct disables the blizzard healing option in combat text upon loading. Is there any way to stop that. It doesn't seem like it would be an intended function of the addon since only with nameplates does the sct healing show up.

4.0.3 stutter issue when gaining soul shard
In 4.0.3, SCT causes the entire game to momentarily lock up whenever a player is on a warlock and gains any number of soul shards, whether in combat via shadowburn or via soul harvest out of combat. By momentary lockup, I mean that the UI, input vontrol and actual frame display is halted until the animation for gaining a soul shard is finished.
The out of combat issue isn't gamebreaking, but the in-combat gain is. Here is the LUA error I get when I gain a soul shard: Message: Interface\AddOns\sct\sct.lua:581: bad argument #3 to 'string_format' (string expected, got nil) Time: Tue Nov 16 11:53:55 2010 Count: 2 Stack: [C]: ? Interface\AddOns\sct\sct.lua:581: in function `?' ...ory\Libs\CallbackHandler-1.0\CallbackHandler-1.0.lua:147: in function <...ory\Libs\CallbackHandler-1.0\CallbackHandler-1.0.lua:147> [string "safecall Dispatcher[14]"]:4: in function <[string "safecall Dispatcher[14]"]:4> [C]: ? [string "safecall Dispatcher[14]"]:13: in function `?' ...ory\Libs\CallbackHandler-1.0\CallbackHandler-1.0.lua:92: in function `Fire' ...rface\AddOns\Omen\Libs\AceEvent-3.0\AceEvent-3.0.lua:120: in function <...rface\AddOns\Omen\Libs\AceEvent-3.0\AceEvent-3.0.lua:119> Locals: <none> If you can tell me how to get a less...truncated error log, I'd be most appreciative. The in-game LUA error box sucks hardcore because of that limitation. This issue is 100% repeatable, with all addons (including SCT), and with SCT alone with all other addons disabled. Took me nearly 2 hours to track this down fully due to me having nearly 100 addon components and soulburn/soul harvest's annoyinf cooldowns.

My low mana doesn't work either nor does incoming damage on my mage (seems to work on other characters). Dodges etc work fine, but when I get hit nothing. Disabled all other addons to check for a conflict, but same result. The 'SCT' dummy message fires when the option is checked, but no actual numbers in combat.
Edit: And now it seems to be working. At least it was yesterday before todays bug fix patch. Weird.

Thanks for an awesome addon Grayhoof, been using it for many many years, even back in vanilla
One question however, I play a warrior and I noticed that it doesn't always report how much damage a spell reflect does, so I decided to investigate the combat events. As it turns out, it just seems to be with how events are passed, there are no consistent way in which order they come. I'll give some examples here, first one reports reflected damage just fine, second one does not, both events in all cases, have the same time stamp. Code:
Unbound Seer Arcane Bolt was reflected by Ryn. Unbound Seer's Arcane Bolt hits Unbound Seer for 896 Arcane. Code:
Unbound Seer's Arcane Bolt hits Unbound Seer for 941 Arcane. Unbound Seer Arcane Bolt was reflected by Ryn. |
