PerfectRaid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v90001-1.0
by: Cladhaire [More]

PerfectRaid is a whole new look on raid frames, giving you as much information as possible in an easily recognizable format that's easy to place. Show as much or as little as you're interested in, and completely customize using the each options editor.

Use /praid to open the configuration GUI.

  1. A preliminary frame editor is in game. It can be kind of complex at the moment, but it comes with a nice set of defaults for you to use.
  2. Added a pre-made buff dropdown to the buff editor screen

If that's the case then yes this has to wait until either the rewrite, or pet frames are added.

More information on vehicles.

It's as forty2j says -- basically, everyone hops on drakes and fights. Blizzard has "vehicle" encounters like this in at least two Northrend 5-man instances (Drak'Tharon Keep and Oculus) and two 10- and 25-man raid instances (Eye of Eternity and the Flame Leviathan encounter in Ulduar).

The vehicle commands here are similar to those throughout Northrend -- examples of the vehicle code can be found in the following quests, among others.
- Kaw the Mammoth Destroyer (72) - Ride a mammoth
- Steel Gate Patrol (71 Daily) - Pilot a biplane (Alliance)
- Aces High! (80 Daily) -- Fly a drake; practically identical to the Malygos encounter

Steel Gate Patrol and Aces High! can be repeated indefinitely just by talking to the questgivers, as long as the quest isn't turned in. Pretty useful for practice, especially for folks learning the Malygos encounter.

Code-wise, the "vehicle" is treated as a "pet", and it answers to "pet" and "partypetN" and "raidpetN" unitids, as applicable. Whenever UnitInVehicle(unit) is true, Blizzard unit frames swap the player and pet. That is, as long as the player is inside a vehicle, the vehicle's HP and energy are displayed in place of player's own, with a special unitframe border, and the player's HP and energy are displayed beneath it as a pet would be.

Some addons such as oUF support vehicle code where applicable.

Basically, the fight is, everyone is riding a vehicle (a drake). There are 0+ tank drakes, 0+ dps drakes, and 0+ heal drakes. (A normal, "safe" configuration is 1/2/2.) Using only the stats and abilities of these drakes, the participants are asked to kill the big badass dragon.

I found (not surprisingly) that PR was showing personal stats, not drake stats, so it was impossible to tell how hurt party members were. I also found (surprisingly) that disabling the PR profile did not cause default UI unit frames to appear, even after a UI refresh. Not sure what that was about.. as I was the "tank" drake in this case, it wasn't of the utmost importance, so I let it go.

I still am not wildly happy with this, but yes.. I would plan to support something like it in the future.

Has anyone else had this happen?
Yes, you could also fix it by calling :StopMovingOrSizing() on the header frame, but I'm aware of the issue.

Posting while I remember...

Theres an annoying bug thats been around for a while and it just happened again. Sometimes the perfectraid frames get "stuck" on your mouse pointer and follow it around, as if you're click dragging but you're not. Ive tried bashing every button to get the frames off the mouse pointer when this happens, but the only way to fix is a /reloadui.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Re: Health Bars sticking

My problem has been since Wrath, that quite often the health bars show a deficit in someones health yet when i click on them they in fact have full hp and it is only when they receive further damage that it corrects itself.
I am not sure whether this is associated to the other part of the addon where the health bars were meant to be updated quicker, but I think this was stopped or something a few patches ago.
I am not sure what information I can give to explain it any better, but I was wondering whether this issue is just mine or whether anyone else has experience it?

Regards
PerfectRaid should display precisely what the Blizzard unit frames would display. Are you using PerfectRaid_QuickHealth? If so, it may be _causing_ your issue.
