    Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map.

    • Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
    • Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
    • Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
    • Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
    • Guild Positions : show all guild members that also have Cartographer.
    • Instance Loot : shows loot tables when you click a boss note
    • Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
    • Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
    • Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
    • Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
    • POI : store notes that city guards point you to.
    • Professions : automatically tracks herbs, minerals, and treasure.
    • Waypoints : allow you to make waypoints and have a big arrow point the way.
    • Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the number of men the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

    For some reason, my minimap is not showing the purple circle that indicates nearby nodes. Any thoughts/suggestions/help? Thanks.

    Isnt working correctly
    My cartographer isnt showing any instance maps at all.. and when im in an instance it shows little skulls for the bosses but the screen is black its not showing anything. Can someone help?

    Same here. Could you implement that in a future version? I would love to get rid of MetaMap completely, but I already have a ton of self-written notes I would not want to leave behind.
    Other than that this is the best Map addon out there hands down! Keep up the good work!
    BTW, I have been using the latest version of Cartographer (cartographer-r41206.1006) from http://files.wowace.com/.

    Edit: BTW, could you implement a way to edit automatically added POI (for instance). As of now, you cannot edit any notes which are added to the map by a plug-in. That would be great! Thanks..

    I accidentally set transparrancy at 0% and now Cartographer wont open, i tried to re-install Cartographer, but its still busted

    Is there anything i can do?

    Right click issue fix
    It is possible to allow left/right mouse click-through in Cartographer.

    1. Get the latest version from http://files.wowace.com; better yet, download and run the Ace2 Updater utility: http://sourceforge.net/projects/wowaceupdater

    2. Click the little lock icon at the top of the Cartographer map. Voila - click through!

    You can assign a keybinding for Cartographer "show alternate map" as a way to keybind click-through mode. Set up the 'default' map as locked (see step 2) and the 'alternate' map as unlocked.

    Even when the map is locked, you can hold ALT to temporarily unlock the map. This lets you left/right click to zoom the map, see zone area hover tooltips, etc. Use ALT-Ctrl-RightClick to set a waypoint/note on a locked map.

    To also mimic my favorite functionality of AlphaMap: Shift-MousewheelDown to fade out all but the explorable areas of the map image (Alt-Shift-MousewheelDown/Up if map is locked).

    I replaced Metamap with Cartographer and, besides the rich and marvelous features Cartographer gives for my use, all my mouse bleeding problems (unable to rightclick mouse) are gone. So hands up for this addon !

    There is one small issue which I do not understand. I used the import addon (after reading and following the elaborate message stream of how to get it to work, including adding the icon packs and moving my metamap.lua to the right folder). The notes are all on Cartographer now but with a red questionmark. Now that is no problem BUT, when I click such a note, I am unable to edit it (grayed out). I can delete, read and set waypoints, but edit is not an option. Why ?

    Finally, I mis the CTRL-rightclick to add a note on the map which is included in Metamap. It would be nice to have such an option to set notes on the map instead of using the /note slash command.

    Both minor issues and again, marvelous addon. After more than 1 year Metamap, this sure is a refreshing difference !!

    This is why I stopped using this mod the first time I tried it, BUT there IS hope. I discovered that the author—although he does NOT tell us this—posts his newest versions at http://files.wowace.com/ AND there are a good number of plugins for Cartographer to be found there that will increase it's functionality, as well!

    So, for all who have been having problems, go get the latest release—posted 2007-06-15 18:00:38—and I hope that fixes all your problems. You might also try posting your Bug Reports at his Author Portal, like he asks you to, to get the maximum chance of getting them fixed!!!

    Since the last patch I havent been able to use this mod. Anyone got a fiz for it? I love this mod and the info it adds about the zones, especially since i've been tryin to level up my fishing ability but now all my time is spent flying from zone to zone trying to figure out if its to high or to low. I want to be able to use this mod again. Any help would be appreciated thanks

    Only been really having one problem. I downloaded a wowhead note pack for all the mine locations in the game. When i actually come across a node on a spot it removes that note. Is there any ways to fix this?
