LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

If it helps, here's a different way to describe it that may help you reproduce it:

When you close the Quest Log, then click on a different quest in the WoW quest tracker, it will open up the LH frame along with the Quest Log, as desired. However, the LH frame will open to the comments for the last quest you had open, instead of the quest you clicked on.

This will happen even if you finished the last quest you had the log open to; that quest is no longer in your Quest Log, but the LH frame will open to the comments for that now-defunct quest anyway (instead of whichever quest you clicked on to open the Quest Log).

The work-around (if you have at least two quests you're tracking) is to click on a quest in WoW's Quest Tracker to open the Quest Log/LH frame; then (since it opened LH to the wrong quest comments) click on a different quest in the Quest Tracker (which will open the comments for that second quest you just clicked on), then click once again on the quest you want-- which will take LH to the proper comments.

It works, it's just an extra step to go through. I certainly understand that you're busy, this is just me trying to be helpful.

some error on empty questlist

Hey, this error popped up when new DK was made.
Full Lightheaded + main module of Questguru were loaded and opening the empty questlist after initial login i think produced the error.
Maybe helpful ? =D

Thank you for implementing Smariots patch, but I seam to have found a problem with it.

When you click on a quest and open it in either the blizzard tracker or questhelper 2's, it doesn't open the correct wowhead info for that quest, it opens the last viewed quest information.

i.e If you open the questlog with L and then click on another random quest, the next time you open the questlog from the tracker it will open the correct quest but with the data from the last quest you viewed on the log.

What I'm saying probably doesn't make sense but it it definitely a bug.
Any update on this? will it be fixed for the next version

You're right, sorry! I didn't realize a few things... 1. The quest tracker I saw on my screen was actually TomTom's. 2. It's TomTom that does decides what objective to point to (just right-clicked on that quest tracker and click proximity).

Thanks!!

The 'arrow' isn't Lightheaded, so I'm unsure what you mean. If you mean TomTom, there has always been an issue to set the crazy arrow to the closest waypoint.

If you could clarify, I would appreciate that.

nearest waypoint option?

Love the addon. How about a feature that changes the arrow to always show you the nearest quest waypoint? I find myself having to flip back and forth and change the order of quests a lot when this feature would pretty much do what I need. In the cases where it might not work the way I expect, I would just remove that quest from my list.

I don't but I'm trying to explain what LightHeaded is and LightHeaded does. I don't see a problem in clarifying for all of my readers =)

Yes I know, my point was the it works with Carbonite and it's outside the carbonite window... I never meant that it should be inside the window >.>
Why do you take the feedback as negative feedback?
I thought it was great that it worked with Carbonite..

I honestly have no idea. That's not how LightHeaded works.

You tell me, does it work with it?
Well, I can test it and tell you
I'll return later with results ^^

-Edit-

Nice, it works.

It doesn't put the actual addition inside the Carbonite window but it does its job

Nice addon

You can use /lh detach to detach the frame in these cases, and then re-attach it when you're done. Completely up to you!
