Chinchilla Minimap  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v2.13.0
by: ckknight, Ravendwyr

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance

Allows changing of blip size (useful since 3.1), border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Auto zoom
Zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap
Tracking dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colorblindness.
Wheel zoom
Mousewheel to zoom the minimap

I'd love to be able to move the expander, depending on which character/profile I'm on. In any case, centered seems like it's in the way for herbing and such (which this feature is amazing for combined with GatherMate).

Thanks

Stuff won't move!

Hi, I'd really like to enjoy this Addon; but for some reason the position feature doesn't work for me. I try to move the minimap with the Horizontal/Vertical bar and nothing changes, and if I try to click and drag it move as it should but when I release the button it pings back to the top corner (and anything else I've moved around gets reset also).

Any help that could be given would be appreciated, I hope I'm just missing a setting but I can't see how since I literally installed it only a moment ago.

So far I am enjoying this addon in my UI Compilation. I do have 1 request or question if it is possible to be fixed or added in...

At the moment, When I close/hide the map, everything with it (such as LFR/BG/Zoom Buttons) goes hidden with it. The only exception is the Difficulty Flag (guild / instance flag). Is it possible to attach this to be hidden when I have the map hidden as well?

Keep up the great work.

Version 2.5.2a has been uploaded. The package has been repackaged and I'm *certain* the folder is correct and the Libs are actually included this time.

Sorry about that.

Ahh.. poop. I don't see it (the funky border) on any of the other blips within Chinchilla, and they're .tga. I guess I'm out of luck for now, as I have no idea how to fix it. Thanks for the response!

I'm not sure if I'm not saving it correctly (as a .tga, 32 bits/pixel) or what. :\ I have tried 24 bits and 16 bits, which did not seem to correct the issue. I followed the format of the other blip images under the folders "Art" and "TrackingDots" (because I noticed they are different). Also, I edited both of the trackingdots.lua files in the folders "Modules" and "TrackingDots" to add the correct/corresponding image paths in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
All of the blip textures suffer from this and I think it's largely due to them being in .tga format in the first place. Blizzard's default blips are in .blp format and don't have the white border around them.

DisableMinimapTarget has become obsolete as of Patch 4.3. Blizzard added options to the tracking menu that will disable target and focus blips on the Minimap.

Uninstall DisableMinimapTarget and the errors will go away.
