emitpU - a buff uptime monitor

Version: Beta 5
by: Gailly [More]

emitpU is a buff uptime monitor which watches several buffs and debuffs and reports their uptime during combat.
There is also a dps, critical hit rate and miss rate display.

What's new?

  • Added option to debuffs (Track only own debuffs or by anyone)
  • Added "Move Up" and "Move Down" to buff options
  • Shift+clicking to reset date will now check if you are still in combat and if not stop the monitoring. This is to stop counting after bombing quest e.g.
  • emitpU is now able to track debuffs on your current target.

Usage
On title bar:
  • alt + left click: drag the frame around
  • shift + left click: reset data
  • control + left click: reports the data to the chat window. if the chat edit box is open the output will be in the channel the edit box points to.
Control + click on a single bar only reports the buff of the bar.

Configuration
Type /emitpu or /ace3 and select emitpU from the dropdown.

How to find out BuffId's
The easiest way to find a buffId is enabeling the debug mode and just play until the buff you are looking for is displayed in the chatframe.
You could also just look at thottbot or wowhead.

Todos and known issues
  • Use LibSharedMedia done
  • Config done
  • Make proper config layout done
  • Track debuffs on single boss mobs done
  • Localisation... german done
  • Buggy and commented out: Move buffs up and down in the list.done
  • Buggy: Miss and crit rate are not working properly (spells?)

As i'm playing myself on german servers it always worked on german servers.

I just added some localisation for deDE but file is probably still waiting for an admin.

Yes, I can certainly understand how that would be an issue and I certainly dont think you should try to model a dot timer. However, for what I think would be useful, Im thinking just knowing debuff uptime on a boss (deep wounds for warriors, Improved Shadow Bolt for locks, etc.) For this, I think just monitoring debuff uptime on the current target would be great.

Also, Ive come across a couple of bugs.

1. If you delete a watched buff, you cannot re-add it until you reloadui, even though it dissapears from the config dialog box.

2. If you reset the debuff timers sometimes it buggs out and you end up with screwy looking data. I'll see if I can provide more data on this one, but I thought Id at least mention it.

In addition to adding the things Im sure you are GOING to add already (shared media, scaling, fonts, etc.) I would like to request an option for tracking target debuffs.

Personally Id like to see not only how much uptime I have on flurry, rampage, etc. but also the uptime on Deep Wounds/BF or Imp. SB on my target. This should probably be tracked in a separate frame.

thanks
