More Information
More detailed information about Armory can be found on the project site. Here you can also access the localization tab which provides an interface to make things easier on translators. Additional software, like ArmoryGuildRecipes, its XML exporter and a Joomla! web site plug-in, as well as a tool to merge databases from different accounts can be found on the Neighbours Guild Website.
Bug Reports and Feature Requests
The comments are not meant to be used for reporting bugs and feature requests. Especially long stack dumps will clutter up the comments section and make it hard to follow. This may result in your post being unnoticed. Also you have no idea what happened with your post and you will not be able to track its status. The best thing to do in this case is file a ticket.
Filing a ticket is not hard but you need a Curse account. Please read How to file tickets before posting.
Coffee
If you like to express your appreciation for the effort that has been put into Armory (and keep me awake to be able to maintain it), press the donate button and buy me a cup of coffee. For those interested: I drink black, extra dark roast. And here you can read how it all started.
Links
  • ElvUI skin for Armory

Word of Thanks
First of all to you! For using Armory and keeping me inspired by providing positive feedback. And you! Who made a donation so I can keep my subscription active (I hardly play WoW anymore). And you! Who translated Armory to make it easier for non-English speaking players. And finally the members of the Neighbours guild (Pluis!) and others who helped me test the alpha builds.

I assume you refer to the look up feature. When looking up information you send a request to all people within a specific group (e.g. guild). If this request would be "send me everything you have" the information that needs to be send back through the communication channel would be enormous. And this will occur every time someone opens the look up window or clears the search phrase. This is undesirable and therefore only explicit questions are supported.
The "send my all you have" question is used by the ArmoryGuildRecipes add-on were only one person will trigger the request. But this is only usable if the output of AGR is put on a web site for instance for other people to consult.

If for example you don't know the name of an enchant enter some general key word, e.g. "bracer". Best practice is still to look on the internet for an overview. Once you know what is important to you you can query other people to see if someone is able to help you out. And that is exactly what the look up function in Armory is meant for.

Hemlock incompatibility?

I noticed an incompatibility with Hemlock, which is an Ace-based rogue poison addon. Hemlock allows you to buy and then create said poisons while at a poison vendor using buttons on the merchant window (first click will buy - second click creates as many as specified beforehand). Armory doesn't stop me from buying the items using Hemlock (first click). However, it prevents me from making more than one poison at a time when I click the second time. It won't let Hemlock create the X amount of poisons you had bought mats for. I would have click the Hemlock button again and again to create the poisons desired. I tried this with just Hemlock and its libraries and Armory enabled. As soon as I disabled Armory and reloaded the UI, Hemlock worked again without issue.

[EDIT]

I tried the test and got the same error with the minimum about of addons needed to run Hemlock and Armory.

I should have mentioned the following when reporting this: When Hemlock attempts to create the poisons, it does attempt to open the Poisons crafting dialog/window, sends the appropriate command to start making poisons, and then immediately closes the window. In game, you'll hear the sound for a window opening, but the window never actually shows. I believe that Armory may be trying to update itself or may be tying into the tradeskill windows and affecting Hemlock's ability to manipulate it. This is all just theory, but I did notice that you do Armory does seem to attempt to do its update when an OnShow event occurs for a tradeskill dialog (I could be wrong here, but that is what the code looks like it is doing). My theory is that the update Armory is attempting on the OnShow event is messing with Hemlock, and I'm sticking to it.

Problem with cowtip

Not sure if this is a know bug, could be that i missed in the comments but don't think so
I use cowtip for my tooltips, looking at armory goes fine untill you switch to another character (with the < > under the char-portret), for some reason the size of the tooltip is increased from then on, not sure if this is an issue of cowtip or armory but i thought i'd share it here so you could look into it

Ps. Awsome addon

I installed Cowtip 3.0 and didn't experience any problems. I do know that Cowtip and alike seem to scale comparison tooltips twice. This is probably caused by the fact that those tooltips are drawn twice: the first time to see if they still fit on the screen, the second time to actually show them.

View character info of other guild members, just like you can view your own

Now.. i requested this feature awhile ago.. and was told that it wouldnt be doable because of lag issues caused by sending/recieving too much info at once. Now.. id like to know, how exactly does this addon send/recieve info, and which causes more lag, sending or recieving? Maby i can come up with some sort of solution?

Request:

Love this addon. Once I found it, it made managing my alts complete. I do have some suggestions/requests.
1.) Summary page. Need a tab where, at a glance I can see relevant information about my toons. Have a drop down to filter categories, and the results window would show each toon in a grid format with the requested information. IE
Melee Dropdown
Damage Speed Power ....
Alt 1 X1 Y1 Z1
Alt 2 X2 Y2 Z2
.
.
Alt X XX YX ZX

Switch the dropdown to Spell and the corresponding values update.

2.) In accordance with the summary page, have a /played dropdown menu item.

Re: Request:

From the pictures I've seen I suggest you try Altoholic. It seems to be close to what you want. Nice to hear though that you like Armory.

Re: View character info of other guild members, just like you can view your own

I don't recall where you're talking about, but this is what I can tell about add-on communication. It has been nerved because of spamming add-ons, meaning that you can't send a lot of data in a continuous sequence. Every message has a maximum length of 255 bytes (including tag and separator). If you want to learn more about it I suggest you go to http://www.wowwiki.com

If you want something liter than Altoholic, you might also try Toons. Personally, I think this is the perfect companion to Armory.

LDB support?

I've never used Titan, and I recently removed FuBar from my addons folder in favor of using an LDB display. Any chance of supporting LibDataBroker?

The chance is very slim...

Considering that Titan Panel supports LibDataBroker plugins, you could simply do away with the Titan Panel plugin (and all of the global litter associated with Titan plugins) and replace it with an LDB plugin. LDB is far nicer to work with than either Titan or FuBar.
