TomTom  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v80205-1.0.8
by: Cladhaire, Ludovicus

TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.

TomTom offers the following major features:

  • Set waypoints via command, or by clicking on the world map
  • A draggable coordinate display with customizable accuracy. This frame can be hidden or locked.
  • Player and cursor coordinates on the World Map (these can be hidden)
  • A floating "crazy-taxi" style arrow that points you to your destination
  • Displaying the "crazy-taxi" arrow or coordinate block in compatible LDB displays (such as NinjaPanel)
  • Show a waypoint that points you towards your corpse for easy recovery
  • Can set waypoints by clicking on quest objective POIs on the World Map and watch frame.
[*]Can automatically set waypoints to your closest quest objective
Please also check out LightHeaded: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ghtHeaded.html
Slash Commands:
/tomtom - Opens configuration GUI

In addition you can use the /way command to add and reset waypoints. In order to overcome conflicts with the Cartographer /way command, you can also use /tway to access TomTom's waypoint command. The following slash commands are available:

Add a new waypoint at 14.78, 23.90:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90
Add a new waypoint in Nagrand at 45, 50:
Code:
/way Nagrand 45 50
Add a new waypoint with a description:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
Remove ALL current waypoints:
Code:
/way reset all
Remove all waypoints in Nagrand:
Code:
/way reset Nagrand
Set a waypoint at the current location:
Code:
/wayb
or
Code:
/wayback
Set the waypoint arrow to the closest arrow in the current zone:
Code:
/cway
or
Code:
/closestway
When you set a waypoint, a dot will appear (green) on your minimap. When it goes out of range of the minimap display, it will turn into an arrow, just like the default UI. You can mouse over these waypoints to get detailed information about that waypoint.

TomTom has been designed to publish the Crazy-Arrow and Coordinate Block as LDB feeds, allowing them to be displayed in compatible display addons. I've written a very simple, easy-to-configure panel that is capable of displaying these called NinjaPanel.

If you're looking to bulk import waypoints (to track achievements, etc), a community member has provided a great addon that lets you do this easily. Take a look at Paste.

Sorry this got so messy, I never properly cleaned up in the transition from AddZWaypoint to AddMFWaypoint and then ultimately in the new map API setup it changed yet again. Apologies!

Re: TomTom:AddZWaypoint()

The README.md file contains what I think are the supported external interfaces and documentation.
Anyways, the replacement function is TomTom:AddWaypoint().

I'll remove that extra Z.

It seems like TomTom:AddZWaypoint() was removed with v80001-1.0.0, presumably when old stuff was thrown overboard with that version. However, there is still a reference to it in TomTomWaypoints.lua, stating that "the public TomTom:AddZWaypoint()" shall be used instead of internal functions.

Now, my question is how should I add waypoints from my own addon, with that function being gone?

Re: Error from Retail.

Good Catch!
The issue was immediately obvious once I looked at the code.
The error shows when the game does not provide coordinates for the quest on the current map.
The fix will be in the next release.

I was on my way to Thunder Bluff to assassinate someone for the rogue mount quest, when I ctrl-RMB on the marker I got the above error. I tried to work out what was triggering the error as initially I'd done that from the Mulgore map but when I did it from the Thunder Bluff map it didn't error, however it seemed to be that I'd just turned the tracking off so it worked when I did it the second time.

From what I worked out if I was already tracking the quest, as in it was in the list on the RHS of the screen, it would give that error, if I shift-clicked it from the list and then ctrl-RMB it worked fine.
So I reloaded UI and tried it from the Mulgore map without the quest being tracked, this didn't give me an error by the arrow was pointing to a different quest in a different zone!

My character is in Stonetalon Mountains.
The quest I tried tracking is in Thunder Bluff but it chose the anniversary quest The Originals, it's choosing the Feralas dragon. Both POI can be seen from the Mulgore map.

Re: Tom Tom Classic Error

This will be fixed in the next release.
Blizzard removed the POI support in Classic.
I have another bug to fix and then I will cut it.
Hopefully tomorrow, next day worst case.

OK. I need more info.
So which version are you running?
What other addons do you have?
Can you name a quest that did not work?

Clickable Cords In Chat

Just wondering if there is a way to click on the cords posted in the general chat (or any chat window) to set a way point just by click on it?.. Instead of typing it out manually. i know it only takes a few seconds to type in the cords yourself but it would be a lot easier and quicker to be able to just click especially with the Rare Share addons. Those few seconds it takes to input the cords yourself can make you miss tagging that rare and having to wait for the re spawn. If this feature doesn't exist it would be great too see something like this in future updates.

Re: Error in Wow Classic

Sorry about that. Turn off the POI integration.
Blizzard disabled it in Classic.
