Simple Light Data Text v9.0.2

SLDataText is a lightweight addon based on text based modules, which can be moved & customized independently or globally. It includes LibSharedMedia support for expanded font selection, and various degrees of mouse click interaction on various module frames. It also supports user-created plug-ins to expand on the module selection beyond what is included in this package. Plug-ins can be as vast or as tiny as desired. Included is are custom libraries (LibSL-1.0 and LibSLTip-1.0) that are used for module configuration menu management and interactive tooltips.

Each module can be positioned independently via dragging and placement can be fined tuned via the configuration menu. Fine tuning includes manual frame anchoring, text justification, X/Y value tweaking, and frame strata value.

Each module has an independent configuration menu, and the AddOn has a global menu to handle unified font types & sizes. The following modules are contained in this package:

  • NEW!!! Guild: Displays current online Guild Member count, and an interactive tooltip that allows click functionality.
  • NEW!!! Friends: Displays current online Friend count, and an interactive tooltip that allows click functionality.
  • Armor: Displays current overall gear durability value as well as a tooltip that provides detailed durability information. This module also has an auto-repair feature.
  • Bag: Displays remaining & total bag space. Click interaction toggles your bags open & closed.
  • Clock: Displays selected Local or Realm time, with options for 12 & 24 hour format(s). Tooltip provides expanded time information, and click interaction toggles both the Time Manager & Calendar windows.
  • Coords: A simple map coordinate display.
  • Currency: Displays currency of your choosing based on your "discovered" currencies. Interactive tooltip provides full currency list and allows for display selection.
  • Exp: Displays experience point information, including percentage & rest percentage.
  • FPS: A simple framerate display.
  • Gold: Displays current overall Gold in long or short format, tooltip shows session-based values (Starting/Current/Earned).
  • Latency: A simple latency display.
  • Mail: A simple mail indicator inheriting the stock MinimapMailFrame tooltip.
  • Memory: Displays current UI memory usage, as well as provides click interaction for manual garbage collection and a detailed list of AddOn usage.
  • Reputation: Displays current tracked Reputation. Utilizes Blizzards built-in tracking on the Reputation pane, "XP Bar" watched Reputations will be displayed.
  • ZoneText: A simple ZoneText display with PvP-Type coloration.
Be sure to check the Other Files tab for additional modules, such as Guild, Friends, and StatLine!

Usage:
/sldt[*]Help
/sldt config[*]Toggle drag & drop/configuration mode
/sldt global[*]Open global configuration menu
/sldt <module>[*]Open module configuration menu

Note: In drag & drop/configuration mode, you can left click & drag to move modules, or right click modules to open their specific configuration menu. The Global Configuration Menu has global options such as font & sizes that carry over into the modules, as well as profile options and tooltip scaling for LibSLTip tooltips.

Special Thanks: I originally wrote this AddOn a long time ago, and have taken extended breaks from WoW at which time suicidalKatt & snichols1122 both made contributions to keep the AddOn up to date and functional so people could continue to use it. I just want to give them a big "Thanks" for doing so, their efforts are much appreciated!

Uploaded a fix for this, accidentally removed the enabled/disabled check with the combat events. 2.01 should not re-enabled disabled modules.
Thanks for the quick reply/fix.

wondering why i havent come across this before, its great ... better late than never

i have been looking for a way to align all modules. so many reletavily small modules just pixels out of alignment irritate the hack out of me. am i overlooking something obvious here? if not, could there be an option to auto-align the modules reletive to eachother?

I don't know recall a way to do it from within the mod, but I use Align to create a grid to keep all my UI elements in line as that annoys the heck out of me as well.

There are no "auto-align" features so to speak (ie. sticky frames, etc), but using the Parent field of each module, you can parent them to each other and align them using the X/Y Offsets. The parent names for modules is explained in the configuration menu.

For example, if you want to parent the clock to the gold module and have them align horizontally, you would go to the clock config and enter "SLDT_Gold" into the parent field, and adjust the text justification/anchor appropriately (Left to Right, or Right to Left) and leave the Y Offset at 0.

It may seem complex, but once you do it once, it's very easy.

It can be added, however I didn't have it in there due to avoiding addition "show/hide" toggles for the columns in the tooltip, and I essentially didn't feel it was an essential aspect since it only applies to Officers & Higher in Guilds to be able to view. I may possibly add it as a default based on Guild Rank permissions to be added to the tooltip.

The "%l" (which I believe is a lowercase "L") doesn't seem to be showing the time in the 1-12 hour format. It actually makes Bugsack spit so many errors that it times out :P Prat timestamps produce a similar "format too long" issue when trying to use the %l as well, so it's probably something in Ace. I know you're proactive and might find a quick fix though

It's a problem I'm aware of and trying to find a fix. It's not just %l, as %r and %T will do it as well. For the time being I would recommend keeping it set to %H:%M or %I:%M as both of those are working just fine (24hour/12hour respectively). I think it has something to do with the string output from date in regards to removing the 0 in single digit returns...but I'm all over it

First time I loaded this addon with a small handful of others* it worked flawlessly. After a relog however, the clock no longer appears and I get the following error:

Code:
..\AddOns\SLDataText\Elements\Clock.lua line 317: attempt to index global 'TimeManagerClockButton' (a nil value)
It doesn't appear to be any of the other* addons I'm running. I can't narrow down the issue. I'm using the latest version of SLDT.

*Other addons:
Bartender4
eePanels2
Elkano's BuffBars (not working either)
EquipCompare
FuBar 3.0
MonkeyBuddy
MonkeyQuest
PitBull 3.0
Prat 3.0
Quartz
simpleMinimap
TinyTip
TinyTipOptions

All mods are the latest available versions.

Any ideas?

Hi there.

Loaded up version 2.01 yday after patch and noticed what I think it's 2 bugs:

1 - the "class colored (global)" text feature is not working for me, I mean, all my text is always plain white no matter if I toggle the feature on or off. Anyway if you do not select that feature, what text color is supposed to be shown? I'm playing a Priest so that means the class color is white so since I don't want all the text to be white what shall I do? On pre-patch versions one could choose a color, is that feature removed now?

2 - If I disable the "Zone Text" module, it hides the text for the zone name alright but instead shows the original blizz minimap zone frame. I'm using Chincilla as a minimap addon and have the options for hiding the location frame&text selected in there too but still the location frame is being shown. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for looking into this and once again thank you for such a great addon, I REALLY love your work

Do you have any record of what some of the initial small errors were? Embedded libs or did you have them load external? It seems odd that a Global Blizz interface object would get returned as nil, unless something loaded prior that modified it somehow...so I'm suspecting sMM as a conflicting issue. I'll try loading SLDT with sMM this evening to see if it fixes the issue.

I have the same issue, was working fine.

All i did was update two mods Prat3.0 Beta 4 (from Beta3) , Skinner, and installed Chinchilla replacing Pocketplot

And now it just reports back the same error in the previous post.

I turned off these mods to check, but i still get the same error now.

Answer #1: I didn't add additional use-set coloring to this version, however I may consider adding it again soon. Yes, it's white cause the Priest class color is white, but you wouldn't be able to change it without the color options being included. I may simplify the color option by using a color-selection r/g/b system rather than using hex colors.

Answer #2: This is a common conflict with Minimap AddOns as they both address the ZoneText frame & border. If you're disabling the SLDT ZoneText module and using Chinchilla/Squeenix/Etc., simply reload the UI after you disable SLDT ZoneText and the Minimap AddOn you use should re-handle the hiding of that portion for you. It's simply that SLDT standalone is set to force a "show" of that border if you disable it (in case your using it without another MM AddOn), so a reloadui should fix the problem.

Ok, I've discovered the issue. The reason I didn't initially suspect sMM was because the first time I loaded up, sMM was enabled along with SLDT and the clock worked perfectly. The only "clock-related" object sMM modifies (that I'm aware of) is the time-of-day circle which used to show a sun or moon but now shows a calendar date - this object was turned off by default and I never changed it, and SLDT_Clock worked fine. I went back and played with sMM for awhile trying to see if various settings and ui-reloads would get SLDT_Clock going again.

Then I realized.... There used to be a blizzard clock below the minimap frame and I disabled that around the time the SLDT_Clock issue began. I re-enabled it and this solved the problem.

It seems that disabling the clock in the default blizzard interface options (display section, I believe) also breaks SLDT_Clock. Re-enabling it causes the Blizzard clock to re-appear until you reload the UI, at which point SLDT seems to hide the Blizzard clock and function properly.

Here's the weird part, the only way I could have remembered disabling it was if I had seen it. And if I saw it, it means it was there while SLDT was running. Which means SLDT wasn't initially disabling the Blizzard clock... Thus causing me to disable it myself (I don't need it if I have SLDT_Clock!) and therefore causing SLDT to break. But somehow re-enabling the Blizzard clock not only fixes SLDT but causes it to start hiding the Blizzard clock on its own? I've confused myself. =P Hopefully that made some kind of sense.

Anyway, hopefully this report helps you in some way.

1 error down, 3 more to go till my UI setup is flawless!

*Red Alert*

:P

The memory module is doing the same thing it was a long time ago. If you have a large number of addons enabled it produces a very noticable stutter every 2 seconds or so. Turning off the memory component within SLDT makes the stutter stop instantly.

Surprising issue, I'll have to look into it more. SLDT "does" hide the Blizzard Clock (that's the TimeManagerClockButton frame you were getting the nil error from). It seems maybe if the Blizzard clock is disabled via the Blizz option, it causes the error? That's what I'm inclined to believe, anywho :P

Thanks for the feedback!
