ElvUI Login Screen and Character Select Glues

This is not an addon, but a button, glue and frame replacement.

There are 3 versions: Red, Blue and Grey. Each version has 2 transparency versions: Regular (non transparent) and Transparent.

Installation

You'll download this file:
elvui_login_screen_and_character_select.zip

Choose your version of the game: Retail, Classic Era or Wrath of the Lich King Classic.

Inside the file the Folder structure is as follows:

The Red, Blue and Grey folders mean the colored version you want, choose one and inside that folder you will find these folders:

Regular
Transparent

Meaning the type of button you want, regular or transparent buttons. Choose one and inside you'll find the following folders:

Buttons
CharacterCreate
CHATFRAME
COMMON
DialogFrame
FrameGeneral
friendsframe
Glues
HELPFRAME
Interface
MacroFrame
optionsframe
PaperDollInfoFrame
STORE
Tooltips
Vehicles

You need to extract these folders into

World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\ for Retail
World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\ for Classic
World of Warcraft\_classic_\Interface\ for Wrath of the Lich King Classic

If you extract them elsewhere they will not work.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic and Classic Fix:
Due to the way blizzard uses the highlights some places will have mismatching sizes since the files are used on more than one place, this happens on the default UI as well but its more hidden due to its appearance.
Classic will have different coloring despite using the same files due to the way the engine handles the glues

Uninstalling

In order to uninstall you'll need to navigate to your World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\ and then delete the following folders:

Buttons
CharacterCreate
CHATFRAME
COMMON
DialogFrame
FrameGeneral
friendsframe
Glues
HELPFRAME
Interface
MacroFrame
optionsframe
PaperDollInfoFrame
STORE
Tooltips
Vehicles

After deleting these folders the login screen and character select will return to normal after rebooting the game.
Do not delete the addon folder or you'll delete your addons

It is highly recommended to delete the previous glues since files were changed and some are no longer needed

Alot of textures especially borders are used by other frames too.

Without editing game files or creating an addon to replace/change the texture paths you can't achieve the default look while replacing the complete LoginScreen.

People could try to go without those parts (compromise) but that would look a bit weird in my opinion.

So either you have a scuffed LoginScreen or some game frames like the LFDFrame look a bit off.

Ofc its possible to complete it but also alot of work which includes maintaining.

As you mentioned its for people who already use replacements, textures or UI's like ElvUI.

And a big thing is to make textures work in different resolutions which is also alot of work and I highly respect that.

But still, I really like your edits and the style is matching my UI/helping me to create new stuff around it.

My UI is still in work (for a long time) and I also change/update alot of code to fix the round icons to make them match the frames.

I will probably share and release a bunch of addons, edits and UI related stuff (Textures, QoL) in the future but I can't tell when this exactly happens.

Theres alot of messy stuff to fix to actually make it user-friendly and with shadowlands I am not that active (again) anymore.

The glues used on the login screen are also used in game, if you disable elvui skins you will get your screenshot. That's why the glues are intended for ElvUI since if you use ElvUI skins they should look fine

Nah Im not using ElvUI at all, I just like the way it makes the game itself look.

Well in your case the way to fix that would be to stop using the glues, as unfortunately the ones used in the dungeon finder are also used in the login screen

The process to remove them would make them be missing in the login screen instead, blizzard reuses a lot of assets and there isn't much that can be done
