TomTom  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v80300-1.1.1
by: Cladhaire, Ludovicus

TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.

TomTom offers the following major features:

  • Set waypoints via command, or by clicking on the world map
  • A draggable coordinate display with customizable accuracy. This frame can be hidden or locked.
  • Player and cursor coordinates on the World Map (these can be hidden)
  • A floating "crazy-taxi" style arrow that points you to your destination
  • Displaying the "crazy-taxi" arrow or coordinate block in compatible LDB displays (such as NinjaPanel)
  • Show a waypoint that points you towards your corpse for easy recovery
  • Can set waypoints by clicking on quest objective POIs on the World Map and watch frame.
[*]Can automatically set waypoints to your closest quest objective
Please also check out LightHeaded: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ghtHeaded.html
Slash Commands:
/tomtom - Opens configuration GUI

In addition you can use the /way command to add and reset waypoints. In order to overcome conflicts with the Cartographer /way command, you can also use /tway to access TomTom's waypoint command. The following slash commands are available:

Add a new waypoint at 14.78, 23.90:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90
Add a new waypoint in Nagrand at 45, 50:
Code:
/way Nagrand 45 50
Add a new waypoint with a description:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
Remove ALL current waypoints:
Code:
/way reset all
Remove all waypoints in Nagrand:
Code:
/way reset Nagrand
Set a waypoint at the current location:
Code:
/wayb
or
Code:
/wayback
Set the waypoint arrow to the closest arrow in the current zone:
Code:
/cway
or
Code:
/closestway
When you set a waypoint, a dot will appear (green) on your minimap. When it goes out of range of the minimap display, it will turn into an arrow, just like the default UI. You can mouse over these waypoints to get detailed information about that waypoint.

TomTom has been designed to publish the Crazy-Arrow and Coordinate Block as LDB feeds, allowing them to be displayed in compatible display addons. I've written a very simple, easy-to-configure panel that is capable of displaying these called NinjaPanel.

If you're looking to bulk import waypoints (to track achievements, etc), a community member has provided a great addon that lets you do this easily. Take a look at Paste.

Fixes: Vale of Eternal Blossoms N'zoth Invasions issues.

Third, wait for it to happen again and post the output.
Then we can work on finding the guilty party.

Playing the retail version I find that often I get a message saying that I have to disable TomTom because it blocked and action. I have to reset the UI and then reset to restore TomTom once the quest etc is completed.

Is there something I can change to prevent this, or is it a WOW UI issue?
Haha awesome thanks Ludovicus

The in-game arrow can be used for quests objectives only.
Other addons that use TomTom for more advanced quest guidance, for locations of rares or resource nodes may not able to use the in-game arrow.
Sadly, I do not have Shadowlands Beta, so I am just guessing based on feedback from other developers.

Is that something TomTom could make use of so that there is only one "marker" visible?

  1. Type /tomtom in the chat window to open the Addons Pane
  2. Pick "TomTom" "Coordinates Block"
  3. Uncheck "Enable Coordinates Block"

Welcome to WoW!

You have to set waypoint clearing distance to zero AND recreate the waypoint. (Or apply current settings to waypoints in any other way available.)

LOL.
Sorry, but I get complaints from other people that waypoints are not going away when they visit them.
There is an option to disable clearing of waypoints:
  1. TomTom
  2. General Options
  3. Clear waypoint distance
  4. 0 (Disable waypoint clearing)
  5. Click OK button on bottom
  6. /reload

if you are asking the the waypoints on the map to pulse, that will take more doing,
as they are controlled by the HereBeDragons Library, so I would have to work with them to set up the interface.

Would be nice, if it exist an option or another addon that hilights exactly the specific current point that I am heading towards, I dont know, maybe a square or a flashing icon.

Thanks.
Can you tell me how is that already supported? Maybe I'm missing something, if I enter a few waypoints in the map, sometimes its a green circle, sometimes its the picture of the rare, lets say I enter 20 rares, then all of them just have the picture icon, but how do i distinguish the one that is currently in the waypoint 1st from the map? not from the arrow itself, like if i open map, which one is currently chosen.

Re: World Map Issues

The preferences define which of CONTROL, META, ALT, keys must be pressed
when clicking on the maps to drop new waypoints.

I removed all other addons, but still no luck.* /tway command still seems to work though.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?* Any advice?
