If you're just going to use the Unit Frames in your own setup then you can configure them for other characters (once you have them working for one) by:
  1. Type /duf to open the unit frames config.
  2. Press the Misc. Options button at the bottom of the config. frame.
  3. Drop down the LoadProfile list
  4. Select FauxMazzle
  5. Press the Load button.

I would recommend you make a backup copy of the file:
[WoW]\_classic_era_\WTF\Account\REAL2REEL\SavedVariables\DiscordLibrary.lua
If something happens, you can copy the file back and just change the profile for any characters that have been modified since the backup.

Actually I would recommend you backup your entire WTF folders periodically... but that's me

Hi Haden08,
Thank you for trying FauxMazzle.

For the chat editbox, it should appear above the left hand chat box just bleow the Player unit frame. If it's appearing below the screen then you probably have another addon also adjusting chat elements.

Because the UI is made up of a lot of different addons with different scaling/sizing mechanisms, a lot of the configuration is manipulating those to get the desired (for me ) outcome. Adding custom scaling to properly adjust all the bits for all variations would take more effort than I'm prepared to expend.

For the Unit Frames only, the quickest way would be to set-up FauxMazzle and then delete all the packaged addons except DiscordUnitFrames, DiscordUnitFramesOptions and DiscordLibrary.

There's also the DUF Configuration Pack that has the Fizzle setup but it hasn't been updated in ages so milage may vary.

Have Fun!
Hi,

Thanks for the speedy reply! I was expecting to wait a while for that to be honest so that was a welcome surprise!

I installed it completely fresh so it wouldn't be another addon affecting it, but maybe I was looking in wrong place for it too. I'm not feeling the best at the moment with this cold!

I understand that, I wasn't expecting a scale option. Everything for me seems a bit small and hard to see, but I do really like the look of it so I might play around with it again when I feel better.

Thanks for the tip about the frames, I'll give that a try!

Thanks again for the quick reply and a really cool setup!

Ah ha! That would explain it! Thank you. (Btw, I have autobar working, you just have to get rid of the mount button).

Thank you

Hey mathprof.

It's a bit hard to tell because you're posting on the Classic FauxMazzle page (which was fine) but it seems you are using this package to install to TBC.

There is a completely new FauxMazzle package for TBC that includes only addons that work with TBC (and where TBC comments would also be placed now it exists ).

There is currently no version of AutoBar, GTFO or SmartBuff that do work with TBC that I'm currently aware of (and possibly others you might be copying to/leaving in the _classic_\Interce\AddOns folder.

If you start again with just the TBCC download installed to the _classic_\Interface\Addons folder (and no extra addons).

The download on this page should ONLY be installed to the _classic_era_\Interface\AddOns folder.

This is one of the side effects of the Classic versions. So far Blizzard is basing each one on a different version of the API that was in existence when the xpac released and "patched up" to add/remove parts of the game UI relevant to how it worked in the original of that version when it was released.

I'm not saying there aren't any bugs but using the wrong files will guarantee them

Re: Re: Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working for TBC Classic

Thank you for uploading your most recent version. I wanted to bring to your attention that there are still some things not working. Here is what I have done:

Started with a completely new Interface and WTF folder

Installed your latest download

Tried the following iterations: 1) No updates to addons 2) Updating via Wowup 3) updating via Cursefoge 4) updating with my last stable versions (from yesterday) of individual addons

Results: Regardless of which iteration above I used, I am getting errors. Seem to be coming mostly from Smartbuff, but even when I disable that, I am still (also) getting errors from DUF and ATB. I have included what I'm getting below in case it might help.

Thank you again for all you do!

(when I disable SB, GTFO, Molinari, Decursive, and Quarts throw an errors)

I have been unable to have any kind of unit frames (Duf is throwing an error).
...face\AddOns\DiscordUnitFrames\DUF_Initialization.lua:1053: ERROR: DUF_PartyPetFrame1_TextBox_1_Text:SetFont(): invalid fontHeight: 0, height must be > 0

ATB is not happy and keeps throwing errors
Interface\AddOns\AutoBarClassic\AutoBarButton.lua:2561: attempt to index global 'C_MountJournal' (a nil value)
Time: Fri May 21 15:49:42 2021
Count: 1677
Stack: Interface\AddOns\AutoBarClassic\AutoBarButton.lua:2561: attempt to index global 'C_MountJournal' (a nil value)

Locals:

Also, the following are throwing errors (though not as important to me as I can just turn off the addons)

SmartBuff:
Interface\AddOns\SmartBuff\SmartBuff-1.13.2d.lua:52: Cannot find a library instance of "LibClassicDurations".;

For information on FauxMazzle for TBC, see my reply to Dorana below.

Blizzard changed folder names but didn't move addons or settings.

If you copy your addons from the _classic_/Interface/Addons folder to the _clasic_era_/Interface/Addons you should be able to get started but you will need to re-configuring all your characters from scratch. It's the downside of the "brand new Classic". Blizzard can create a system for cloning you character but I can't create one for cloning your addons and settings.

I'll upload my curent Classic build some time today while the TBC shuffle get's sorted.

But nice to know you're on it, that means as long as my core functionality works I won't need to give any thoughts on the fine edges.

Again, Awesome work on the FM addons, both in Retail and in Classic. I would have a very hard time to continue playing if I didn't have it ^^
FauxMazzle doesn't use Discord Art anymore since version 2, so you can delete that (there will be a new version of DART comming out today if you are using it for something other than FauxMazzle).
Have fun!

Oops, missread, ignore me . I brought the core together in the TBC version so it might be the "current" FM version is not quite synced.

Hey there Dorana.
The actual core of FauxMazzle works for TBC, but not all of the extra addons by other authors do. I have a package put together with the ones that work that is "reasonably" acceptable but I'm hoping some of the others will be updated in the coming days (some of the authors don't play anymore but do provide updates once all the time wasting messiness of beta/ptr is over).

The ones currently not working:
AutoBarClassic
Decursive
EasyMail
GTFO
Mapster
Molinari
OmniCC
Quartz
Recount
SmartBuff

Quartz and Autobar are probably the major ones missing (Recount could be replaced).

That's where I'm at

Re: Awesome! Totally Awesome!

Hi mathprof, Thank you for trying FauxMazzle.

It you just want to change the number of buttons available on the default button bars, you can open the FauxMazzle configuration window (/fm or right/left click the FauxMazzle button depending on your setting) and open the Addons settings and click the (-->) arrow button on the Dominos entry in the list. You will have a dropdown to select the button count for the default bars. This is a per character setting.

Otherwise:
Where possible, FauxMazzle uses a single default profile for all characters. If you want to make changes and preserve them for Dominos, open the Dominos configuration (/dom) and select the Profiles branch (it should show FauxMazzzle as the existing profile). Enter a name for your new profile and press Okay.

You can make changes to your new profile and when you create a new character, you can open /Dom and select that as the profile to use. The FauxMazzle process won't alter it.

This is the second version of FauxMazzle and some things are still "under construction". The changes to the chat system and communities had a chance to dive into yet to figure out how best to handle them.

Again, thank you SO much for doing this! I had created my own using Discord Art, but it looked TERRIBLE.
