newPlate:SetAlpha(blizzPlate:GetAlpha())
You could change that to
if blizzPlate:GetAlpha() > 0.9 then
newPlate:SetAlpha(1)
else
newPlate:SetAlpha(0.2)
end

Im trying to do this on my own but it seems I cannot operate this addon. Im not sure why as it seems so easy. Ive added countless spells with the correct spell id's (hamstring debuff, beserker rage aura, colussus smash debuff, lambs to slaughter aura) but I cant get anything the show up on my screen.
