Just Installed Carbonite 4.0003
Howdy all .. just thought i'd let you know how i got this most recent build of Carbonite to work for me.
I deleted everything having to to with Carbonite in my addon directory .. then added the new folders/files. I've only been playing for 10 minutes or so but that seems to have given me decent carbonite usage. my FPS is rather low for my system .. but not sure if that can yet be attributed to the Carbonite Addon. More later Regards |

I'll know soon if it works. Blizz wants me to download new game data first. EDIT: Didn't work with 4.0003. Seems 4.0003 isn't talking to the quest server correctly. EDIT: Tried with 4.0001 (which had seemed to work for me until I installed 4.0003), still no dice. |
My carbonite bugs for 4.0003

some of us have noticed that it appears to work for some characters and not others. there is a thread below where we are tring to narrow down the commonality between the ones that work and ones that don't.
check all of your characters and report findings. this should help narrow down where or what is causing the issues. |

Bugs
So I just updated this add on for the new patch and I have to say I'm experiencing a lot of problems.
First off while leveling I can rarely see my list of quests or even my quest log. And When I do it still doesn't update my progress with the quest. Then once I do complete a quest it literally spams none stop Carbonite: "Quest name" Is complete over and over and I can not figure out how to disable it. Also carbonite changes my Icons on my regular mini map and I want to know if I can disable the carbonite ones to get my regular wow ones back. If anyone knows how please tell me :) |
Thanks for updating! Its great to have the map back. Only a few issues though to note.
This only happens sometimes, not all times so dont know if its my end or what. But on completing a quest the normals notification that pops up in the chat bar that says that quest has been completed it keeps going, sending the notification about 10 times a second, clogging my chat bar. Also it seams to be mixing up quests, for example when i was doing The Blood is Life quest in the Blood Furnace in Hellfire, whenever I would pick up a blood (needed 10 total) In party chat it would say- The Heart of the Mountain 1/1 The Heart of the Mountain 1/1 The Heart of the Mountain 1/1 The Heart of the Mountain 1/1 Every time i picked up a blood. Sorry if I post this and these are already known but couldnt find anything on them. |

I was having a multitude of Lua errors as well, so I opened up the carbonite.lua in Addon Studio for Wow and went to the line 6433 (thats where most of the errors seemed to start) it seemed the declaration was not complete, missing a couple ,, etc. however adding them didn't fix my issues. so I went back in and deleted this Code Portion
for n=1,lbC do local des1,typ,don=GetQuestLogLeaderBoard(n,qi) if des1~=cur[n] or don~=cur[n+100] then if opt["QWAddChanged"] then if cha1==nil then cha1=true end end local s1,_,olC1=strfind(cur[n] or "",": (%d+)/") if s1 then olC1=tonumber(olC1) end local s1,_,neC=strfind(des1,": (%d+)/") if s1 then neC=tonumber(neC) end if don or(olC1 and neC and neC>olC1) then self:Cap(cur2,n) end laC=cur paS=true end end I am in no way a coder (obviously by the Delete rather than fix), but removing this statement has fixed all of my LUA errors, it fixed my Quest Log and my FPS (due to the repeating error) I don't know what I removed functionality wise but hopefully it may help you pinpoint the problem, also the ONLY other addon I had running was Addon Control Panel |
Bugs
Thanks, Ill give that a try and see if it fixes the problems
