In case people are going "WTF22K?WTF?", realize the connection is more than likely a T3 connection.

Or T1. Why anyone would have that for home IDK. Unless they run a server for something like vent/teamspeak/some FPS game.

Why would you care about latency in the first place.

WoW is playable on a 56k dial-up connection, I fail to see how a fast connection is impressive =/

(On a side note, I think its time for a new PC Dreadlorde...your specs are...well...horrible to say the least)

At work:

But the PCs have no real GFX, so I can't play from there :p
Else, my laptop is teh shiat, and my main comp that is currently ~10'000km from me is:
- Motherboard: ASUSTeK P5B-E Plus
- CPU / Fan: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 with a ZALMAN CNPS9500 fixed with Arctic Silver 5 thermal grease
- Power supply: Thermaltake TR2 ATX 12V 2.0 - 420W
- GFX: HIS Excalibur X850XT - 256 Mo TV-Out/DVI - PCI Express (next thing I'm gonna change, I guess)
- Loads of HDDs? :) Seagate and Maxtor, for like 300+300+200+160 + a 500 external one (Fraps is evil, I heard)
- Displays: a ****ty TFT 17'' dual screening with a nice Acer 19" LCD - AL1951AS - 8 ms (bit old but still nice)

See how clever French people are here:
Byte => Octet (makes sense as it's for "8")
Bit => Bit
So, kops and kbps are clearly different for us :)

4 cores is a bit weak so I'm more going for 130'072 (with 32Tb of memory and 806Tb of disk space).

Yep, but well, it's a bit expensive. Follow the link and read the stats (Btw, most of the price of such a comp is keeping it up, it costs manpower, electrical power for the comp itself, electrical power for the huge cooling system, etc etc... So when you think about the price of the investment itself, it is a bit scary ^^)

Dreadlorde 08-10-07 08:43 AM

When you say TB, you mean Tera byte right? Because there's no point in have 32TB of RAM.

Of course there is, as it's split on one hundred thousands processors :)
