Others jumped in before I could get back. They are not going to waist a Beta invite if they don't know for sure you are going to use it.

Just like you MUST have WOLK before you can get a BETA. Even though I bet anyone who didn't have WOLK would go and buy it if they got a BETA invite. (Hey Bliz there is a way to sell more WOLK copies!!)

I reported hundreds of bugs and issues in previous Betas and on Live Realms. They just have to make a note or flag my account. :p

But it makes no sense to pay for the upcoming months to have a tiny chance for a random invite if I don't like to play anymore. Most players are gone and I could not manage to get past the first wing of Icecrown Citadel with my old guild. :(

As soon as 4.0 hits Live Realms or when I get a Betakey I will renew my sub (if needed). :)

Another point of interest, generally Addon Authors have a good chance (read I got one being a small time author) of getting beta keys from wowi or curse. So if u have an addon on wowi or curse that you keep updated (as in new uploads), you'll generally qualify for a beta key. at least that's how i remember it happening for the wrath beta laster year.

Right! I hope this will be possible for the Cataclysm beta, too. :)
Sometimes fansites get some keys for a contest/raffle as well.
