Talents/Skills data scraping?
 

Does anyone know where sites like mmo-champ and wowhead get the data for their talent/skill pages? i.e. do they parse some client-file or do they use a custom mod to parse the details in-game?

From memory, they parse the cache files found under /Cache/WDB/enUS/
Where enUS is your local, and the root is your wow directory.

Could be completely wrong, though.

Hmm... that directory is empty for me in WotLK.

Well I pretty much answered my own question after a few hours of digging about on the web. All the info is in the WoW\Data\enUS\*.mpq files. Next question: Does anyone know where I might get a utility to pull the data out and make sense of it :) I found DBCUtil, but that only does half the job (extraction).
