I havent seen much about it, but I am curious. Is there an ETA for mining and herbalism nodes for carbonite?

Soon™. ;) From what I gather (ha! no pun intended) they're working on rebuilding the database for quests and nodes all at the same time. It was supposed to be done this past Sunday, but 'it' happens in the programming world. I'd peck a gander at a few more days till it's nice and golden brown.

I was curious as to why they can't use previous data to rebuild it as well.

Because, for Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, at least, there aren't any previous data (unless you're talking about pre-Cataclysm data, which are irrelevant, since everything has changed).

As I understand it the data have in fact "arrived", and are being tested.

Thanks for the answers. I got the info i wanted and i am satisfied with the result.

We are focusing on quest data currently. I have a big pile of submitted files with node data, but we need to work out a better way of adding the data to CarboniteNodes, since the old method was tedious and slow. I'd say another week before that is done.
