Will Carbonite die when MoP is released?

Is there a beta version?

In the past, the author's have always seemed really ontop of this sorta stuff, but looks like interest is dying away.

makes me sad

I love this addon, i have trouble playing wow without it.

It's been said before by the Dev's that they are planning to continue it for the foreseeable future. When that changes they will let everyone know. That's about all I've heard and seen posted.

As far as I'm aware, there is no beta anywhere either. When/if it becomes available they will probably make a post same as they have in the past.

oh well for now I can only pray there will be carbonite in 5.0

Carbonite has been a favorite for some time now. I hope it continues.

Well if Carbonite, needs monetary support, i can send them some, I really love this addon

ive been an avid carbonite supporter for ages now and would still gladly pay for an updated version.

wow sucks with out carbonite.

I've already written off Carbonite, hate it as I've been a supporter since before Blizzard killed it with the addon change regarding paid addons. I knew then Carbonite would die a slow death and that appears to be the case. I certainly hold a bit of hope they are just planning to release something for MoP. Without some confirmation though I'm in a wait and see. IF they spoke up and said they were working on a release even if it was the final release to get us through the early part of MoP I'd be happy enough to donate some of my very hard earned cash.

I agree. I've been a Carbonite user since its first release and was content with the cost. But Blizz stopped the pay for add-ons and Carbonite started to die. Now whats in the future? Sure hope the developers have the heart to at least give something to their loyal users. I'll miss Carbonite as it has been part of my UI for so long and I don't know what to do without it.

The authors have said many times b4 that although they will update carbonite to work, they have to earn a living in real life so dont expect the update to be immidiate.
If u truly love carbonite u will wait patiently like me :)

The zip is just the main three files needed:
Carbonite.lua
Carbonite.toc
Localization.lua

Note that the sub plugins (Carbonite Nodes, Items, Transfer) will still show up as out of date so you'll have to check the "Load out of date AddOns" box. I did virus scan the zip and it comes back clean. I recommend when you replace the 3 files that you rename the old ones just incase. I simply just put an ".old" at the end of each one personally. Also did do some minor testing and the features do seem to work just fine, the new MoP world is on there ofcourse.

I did notice that the new carbonite and tomtom do not seem to like each other as running both will cause the large map to flash annoyingly when moused over an area. I just disabled tomtom and it works great.
