Browse to your World of Warcraft folder and open up interface then addons. You should then see a list of addons with Carbonite being one of them.

If it doesn't say Carbonite exactly then it sounds like you need to open that folder up to see the true Carbonite folder.

i deleted all my addons just to start fresh and the only 1 of my addons that works is titan panel. carbonite, arcud, bartender and recount all don't work so i don't know whats going on. The carbonite folder is there and everything and its not working at all :(

Xrystal 08-04-09 10:46 PM

And you have a carbonite.toc file inside that carbonite folder ?

The folder structure for any addon should be as follows:

World of Warcraft / Interface / Addons / <AddonName> / <AddonName>.toc

Now if that is still the case with you then the next question to ask is how many versions of wow have you got installed. On Vista and Windows 7 machines The Burning Crusade and more specifically the Lich King expansion asked to move the wow folder to a more secure location ( Users/Public/Games ). However, it doesn't move it but just copies it and thus you end up with 2 game folders. If that is the case look in the extra folder and see if the carbonite in there as well and if not try copying it there too.

I only have windows xp, and the addon is in its proper spot. i reinstalled multiple times and it still doesn't show up. it was working flawlessly before patch 3.2 came around. here is a screenshot. this is starting to seriously piss me off.

You need to be following the "General Debugging Steps" here:
http://www.carboniteaddon.com/install.shtml

Xrystal 08-04-09 11:16 PM

Hm, that is very weird. It should work fine unless there was a corruption during the extraction process.

I'll do a quick test now myself before going to sleep.

Carbonite, v3.13

3.13 is old. You should install 3.201 and check the Carb minimap button tooltip that you are then actually using the new version.

I went through all the steps. I have every file i need that is stated in "general debugging steps" and my world of warcraft is installed in its default location. I tried rebooting my computer, reinstalling, overwriting and nothing works!

Yep, definitely a good idea there. I don't use carbonite myself but I just tested it and it appears in my addon list with no problems. I hope you resolve your problem with those steps.

Edit: Oh darn, I see you replied with a no go there. :(

I really can't see anything else that could be causing that to happen.

bouncefx 08-04-09 11:28 PM

still nothing works this is driving me insane... the only addon that works is tital panel for some odd reason but everything else doesnt work... i cant even play WOW :(

bouncefx 08-04-09 11:35 PM

simply rediculous. my two favorite addons carbonite and bartender are not working for me. now i having to use quest helper which i hate using and im forced to use a default interface for all my skills this is absolutely brutal.

keithb 08-04-09 11:39 PM

doesn't work for me either

no cant get it working at all neither can my partner or any of my mates

Did you try doing the following as mentioned near the beginning of this thread?

I just wanted to make sure you did this since I didn't see any mention of doing it in any of your posts and most of the people trying to help you probably assumed you did this already since it was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Pyrophoric 08-05-09 12:12 AM

All I know is it was working but now it keeps opening the social panel over and over even if I am AFK.

carboniteaddon 08-05-09 12:16 AM

Does it say "Carbonite 3.201" in the addon list?
Does "Carbonite 3.201" have a yellow check mark to left of the name?
Is "Load out of date AddOns" checked?

THIS WORKS !!!

Jigain 08-05-09 12:55 AM

Heh. It's true what they say... when something's broke, look at the most obvious location first. In local area networking, where I picked it up, it was the cables. In the world of addons... the addons window. ;)
