Burp Noise

Ok, this is driving me kind of nuts.
Every now and then, I will hear this burping like noise while playing (and sometimes, another noise that sounds like an "eh-hmm" when you clear your throat).

I'm under the current theory that it's BugGrabber (or Swatter when I tried to switch BG off and use Swatter), but haven't been able to quite prove it as I can't reliably replicate the cause of the sound.

Thing is, this just started to appear recently. A few days ago I decided to give up FuBar and switched to ChocolateBar, and that's when it started. And I really can't imagine ChocolateBar being the cause...

Any help or indications as to why this sound happens would be GREATLY appreciated.

If it matters, here's a list of my running mods.

Quite some time ago I saw a post (sorry, can't remember where or when - the vagaries of getting older) that explained it as "Default voice-chat bleed over". Made sense at the time, and I've been hearing that noise ever since I started playing WoW a little over a year ago.

Do you happen to hear voices while eating Rice Krispies?

Seriously... was entirely too good to pass up. :D

I am seriously tempted to smile right now.

Back on topic, I must say I have never heard such a sound in WoW. Are you sure that it's coming from an addon? Try disabling all your addons (just temporarily rename your 'Interface' folder) and play for a while to see if you get it. If not, go through all your addons and figure out which ones might be causing it. Then focus on those ones and disable/enable them one by one, until you find the culprit. That is, if this sound really is caused by an addon, which I highly doubt.

Either BugGrabber or Swatter does play an obnoxious sound, but I wouldn't classify it as either a burp or throat clear. Anyway, the addon plays a sound when a lua error occurs. You can test it by enabling all of your addons and typing this into chat:

/run .

This will just force an interface error to occur.

I know there's an odd sound when somebody activates the in-game voice chat. This could be it, or not.

Vent makes a buzz noise also, that could sound like a burp, I suppose.

I recall some pet feeding addons would do the eh-hmm when your pet was less than happy and needed to be fed then burp after you feed it.

I don't see anything in your addon list that jumps out at me for this but it might give you a direction to go to narrow it down some.

I was going to say something about this also. I know PetInfoFu would do that but it's not showing in your addon list and you did mention you had just gotten away from Fubar. Might try looking through your wtf folder savedvariables file to see if the character affected still has any of the FuBar plugin data especially any having to do with pets. It could be affecting your current UI.

You could also try a search of your addon folder for things like mp3, wav or ogg. This will list custom audio files used in your addons.

From there you can play them to see if the culprit is there. Of course if the addon is taking it from the actual game this will not help you :)
