WoW Weirdness
 

I've been having some strange problems with the game since... a couple days (possible a week). I log on, which works fine, then I watch the blue bar move to the end of it's box on the load screen and...it just sits there.

I know the game's done with loading as I can ALT-TAB out of it (which it refuses to do while loading). This happens both with and without addons loading. Occasionally I do get in, and the game seems normal. Then today it lost the content of the minimap and when I got back to the character screen is was a single solid colour, with just the buttons and the labels showing.

Suggestions?

Do a Repair scan first. If that doesn't work, fresh install of the game. This sounds like a corrupted file issue. After that, we're looking at something wrong with your hardware itself -- drivers, fragmented files, failing hardware, etc.

Scan (check) suggested everything was alright.
After logon, I seem to be in the game, as it actually responded to /exit...

I guess I'll go for the reinstall... =/

Sounds more like a video card problem to me.

Update your video card drivers. Graphic glitches are usually associated with bad drivers or a dead/dying card ... not corrupt game files ..


If an update does not work then maybe a complete uninstall and than a reinstall of the drivers will work.

Remember to restart the PC after each install / uninstall of your video card drivers to complete the process. Even if it doesn't tell you to do so.

i would also check your gpu heat, had similar problem.
i had graphic corruption etc, and turned out my gpu was running way to hot. as that was down to the vents round the fan being clogged up with dust...

Must have been (hopefully) a glitch with addons. I removed (physically, rather than disabled) all of them and it seems fine. I moved them back a couple at a time and it seems gone.

Thanks for the suggestions though. I'll keep those in mind should it recur.

That used to happen to me, and i just deleted my addon saved variables and boom for some reason it worked again:p
