your interface folder is out of date and must DELETE

today blizzard updated woW, but whe n i logon it says my interface folder is out of date and must be deleted?
there is no way round it, if i want to play i must let it delete.
i've installed nedompack.
how can i get round this? and if the UI interface is legit then why does blizzard remove it?? its only a UI, i dont get it.

It isn't saying that it isn't legal. It's just saying that it is out of date.

Question, are you playing on North American servers, or European?

The American servers were patched this morning. You need to update your addon version from 4211 to 4216. Or wait for the nedompack to be updated.

According to the version number on the splash screen, its version number 4222. I manually changed all my .toc version numbers to 4222 and nothing works.

The version number on the screen is wrong (believe it or not, stupid as that sounds). It's actually 4216.

Please don't do that. Do this instead

Delete INterface folder

I was reading over this and I am having the same trouble. The problem is that I cannot get to the screen to allow not to check for out of date versions it gets me on the sign on screen and I have no choice but to rename my interface folder and go without any modificaitons.

Any ideads?

1. Start the game. Get the popup asking you "Delete or Exit". Choose EXIT.

2. Go to your World of Warcraft folder. Move the entire Interface folder and your WTF folder out of the WoW directory. Dump them on your desktop.

3. Restart the game, you should have no popup, but if you do, choose Delete (since you have backups now).

4. Log in your character (without addons), exit game.

5. Replace your Interface folder and WTF folder.

6. Restart the game. Under the Addons button choose "Disable Version checking".

7. Log in. Pray to the Addon Gods that Blizzard didn't change some LUA functionality that causes half your mods to break.

8. Play as usual, but remember to check often for updated versions from the mod authors

Please note, I don't use Cosmos (or any other UI mod, if there are any) which modifies the FrameXML files, so I've never had to actually test the method listed above. From what I have been told, the above will work. Verification from someone that uses this method and is successful would be appreciated. - Cairenn

Thanks Cairenn for the response, hope you didn't bang your head too hard :P

There is something amiss with Blizzard to put in the wrong version number on the front screen, plain sloppy in my opinion.

I did miss that option about the add-ons. Unfortunately all but one of the add-ons I use did not have updates from the previous patch let alone this one. So I had to resort to the manual changing. So far all work again. I did post the ones I use here Need Updates but got no response even on the pages themselves.

Thanks again
