So, who all is going?

I'll be looking into the dinner soonish, so watch for a separate thread for that in a while if you want to sign up to go to the dinner.

I'm going--won't make Disney this year, but I'll be there none the less. I'm staying at the Marriott all week--so if anyone is coming in early let me know!

Blasphemy! I'm from Germany and I'm going there.

I'd love to but living in Sweden makes it quite expensive. If I had the time and cash, I'd be there for sure. Would love to take a close look on Diablo :)

I was a little too slow when tickets went on sale, so once again, not this year.

I feel your pain. I was set to go then had to cancel as my boss scheduled his vacation with mine. Then I find out I can go and its after ticket sales, /wrists. I will just have to watch from home again.

If I didn't use up the cash I put aside and budgeted for the tickets/plane/etc and use it for other stuff, I'd probably have enough spare cash by now to look towards eBay.

What I envision when Dolby heads to BlizzCon:

[Setting: A mansion. We see a padlocked door that light can just peer through, thanks to cracks and holes. Despite this, it does look strong and we can hear something struggling against the door.]

"Dolby is loose. I let him loose... I mean, out of his coding dungeon... but I keep him in there... locked up in that room. If I was ever to let Dolby out of the house, he would be running this town inside a week."

"Everything he says is true."

[undoing the locks.]

"He's in here. Think I'll let 'em out."

[the door opens a bit and light pours from behind it. We hear the howls of Dolby before the door closes again.]

"I was kidding. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. This isn't a cute programmer. Nah. He like those damn coders in "Hackers"... only he ain’t got no skateboard... he's a vicious, mean-spirited coder."

Saw him get a hold of a game console once....[shakes his head]hoo boy.

[Makes a call.]

"If I don't get a pizza here in ten minutes, I'M LETTING DOLBY LOOSE!"

[Cut to a Cab.]

Worked for 30 years over in a furniture department. Can't tell me everyone in this town didn't look down on me. Worked for commission. Lucky if I made 300 bucks a month. Now I run the whole damn furniture department!

[We laugh, the cab driver doing so nervously.]

Here you are, Sir. And I just want to say how much my wife and I appreciate you not letting Dolby out....

Oh, I figure I gotta let 'em out sometime..... BlizzCon!

[The cab driver looks very nervous. I start laughing.]

[I exit the Cab and enter the house.]

People think I have got the power cause I've got Dolby. Nope. I've got the power because I'll let him loose... They don't understand...

If he says he'll let Dolby loose, he WILL let him loose.

You goddamn don't understand THAT... you goddamn don't understand me. But that's okay. That's all right, see... cause people.. they understand programers.

[the door is shaking as we hear Dolby howl and bang against it.]

OMG!

This is so crazy--I won't be at BlizzCon this year.

After much debate--and much thinking--I've chosen to pass up BC and instead go to Ireland for a much needed vacation for a week.

It was a hard decision--however I go to Cali 3 times a year and it's nothing new--BC has a few changes here and there, but overall it's the same.

So when the opportunity came up for Ireland, I couldn't resist.

I will be disappointed to not see many of you--but next year I should be there.

You all have fun and don't do anything I wouldn't do--go home with some random Blood Elf.

Well, I don't drink beer, so I can't tell you to have a pint for me. Instead I'll suggest a shot of a good single malt whiskey. ;)

No interest in going. Usually I'd settle for the DirectTV feed, but seems there's not much to talk about at this point since things have become pretty stagnant as of late.

My predictions:
WoW: Upcoming content patches and general Q/A, just like last year.
Starcraft 2: Development update on upcoming "sequels", small chance of beta/release date.
Diablo 3: The only thing that might bring some "big new", such as beta test and/or release info. Other than that, more Q/A, more "upcoming" trailers and/or some gameplay footage, things that have been lather-rinse-repeat over the last few years.
TITAN: Nothing.

So basically I'd be going to play with/watch thousands of people sitting at the demo booths for D3. Bleh. I'll just wait for the YouTube vids the next day and save some $$ to get the "big" news items.

But that's just me. Hope those who are going have a good time.

Well, there's a good chance WoW:MoP will be announced. Though that's not very interesting to me, either :)
