Screen Shots of your UI...

I have just started playing and have a level 9 Troll Shaman and level 8 NE Rogue. I have no idea what UI I should use and I don't have any installed. I'd love to see what people have and have a listing as well. It'd be helpful to show a screen shot and also list the mods and give your opinions about what you like about it.

Thanks!

Einiki

Heres mine :)

I try to go for the minimalist approach and this layout works really well for a rogue.

Here you go, Might not be the best designed GUI but its all neat and tidy.

:gf:Blucid Customized Cosmos GUI w/ ADDons

Give me some comments on how you like my GUI.

Sole, really like your UI. What are you using for personal/party health monitoring (thought the game only relaed % of health?). I have a somewhat mixed opinion of the loose button approach at the button, but overall it's nice.

Thanks. At the time I was using Gypsy_UnitBars for my party window but have since switched to MiniGroup. MiniGroup has also replaced my target window which I like :) .

Heres a screenshot of my current UI.

Most of my UI consists of mainly Cosmos and GypsyMod. I removed like 3/5 of Cosmos though :) . I also added some standalone addons like LFG Paste (my own work) , Telo's MobHealth, Gatherer and some others.

Also on the screenshot in the target window it displays the health as a 100%. This is most often not the case. MG has an option to use Telo's MobHealth and MobHealth only activates when you enter combat :) So usually it displays the estimated figures there.

Thanks for the input guys...
I think it'd be helpful to see exactly whcih addons you have used and which you deleted...Could you list them?

I use Gypsy and some of Cosmos now, but I am not sure which ones are better...Is Gypsy's buffbar better or is the one in Cosmos better?

In my (not so) humble opinion, there is no such thing as "better" or "best" when it comes to UI mods. Every person has things that work better for them, every person has their own preferences and opinions. You have to find what you like, what works well with your style, and just use that.

Try each of them and see which one you prefer. :)

Complete list of mods visible and not:

Auctioneer
Autobar
Clock
CTmod
Enchantrix
Hunterbar FeedButton
Lootlink
QuickLoot
SmartPet
WoWRankings
Wr(allakhazams)

Think that's it. That's everything listed in my AddOns folder anyway.

This is a small project I'm working on. Nothing special. Just rearranging UI Items and whatnot more to my liking. Then I'll begin customizing it further. This is more of a learning project for me at this point:

ModScreen1

ModScreen2
  • Removed all background textures for a more 'transparent' UI.
  • Moved Player, Target, Pet, Buffs to the bottom of the UI Screen.
  • Condensed all windows that display hp/mana to a smaller format.
  • Separated the Pet Commands into two rows. The bottom row is for the general commands, the second row is for pet spells. Similar position to the default.
  • Buffs are separated into 3 rows of 8 Icons. The first row are negative buffs, which appear from right to left. The remaining two rows are for player buffs, which appear from left to right. This gives a distinct 'break' between the two types of buffs.
  • Combat indicators for the pet are moved aligned with the happiness indicator. Combat indicators for the main player are moved to the left of the name, above the HP bar.
  • Tootips moved to the left of the screen for easier viewing. The reason for this is that any major tooltips that appear on mouseover itmes are triggered from items arranged on the left hand side of the screen. I found it easier to use this format rather than looking across the screen. All other tooltips remain the same.
  • NPC Quest log remains movable with fade disabled. Last location is still not saved.
  • FPS Indicator moved and displays below the tooltip screen.

how do you make multiple chat windows like that?

Inokis 01-31-05 04:33 PM

You can do it one of two ways:
A. Right click the chat window tab, unlock windows, then drag the tabs out from the parent window

B. Right click the chat tab and creat new chat window, then assign the channels and the title for the chat window.

thanks, how would i go about making one for parties or guilds? in other words, how would i make one of the chat windows exclusively for party chat, or exclusively for guild chat?

Inokis 01-31-05 06:02 PM

Right click on the tab of the window you wish to assign channels to and bring up channels. Then select Party and Guild channels for that window. Repeat this process for the channels you wish to assign for those specific windows.

The way I have my chat windows set up are:
Window 1 (Dockable main chat window):
Combat Tab, Say tab with emotes, Defense tab with world and local defense

Window 2:
Party and Raid chat

Window 3:
Whispers and Guild Chat

My standard main bar is made with flexbar and uses 14 keys (I use the ~ and Backspace keys) and when I stealth, my main bar swaps to a 5-key stealth bar.
