Whats wrong with the site? I can't update my WAU or download any files from there. I've been gone from wow for a while, so I need to update my add ons lol.

No clue... having the same problems. WAU crashes.. and files.wowace.com is down. I used WAU yesterday, so hopefully it is a temporary issue.

The page is just down at the moment. Could be a database issue, a server issue, an isp issue, a traffic issue, etc. Don't worry about it and wait to update tomorrow.

Not at this time it isn't. http://files.wowace.com, http://www.wowace.com & http://svn.wowace.com are all down.

Tried to do a TRACERT to all of them and my ISP(s) could not resolve the target names. So unlikely a traffic issue.

Seems some DNS servers dropped from the internet.

p3lim 05-06-08 05:12 AM

there were some issues over the night, should be sorted out tonight or atleast by tomorrow. Just hang on there, you will get your updates :)

Amaru 05-06-08 05:23 AM

Ok good. I was hoping it would be a temporary issue.

Jayhawk 05-06-08 05:24 AM

SVN was down this morning, but seems to be working again. Main page still seems down.

I think there has to be some issues with DNS servers or something. I keep getting booted from the game and losing connection to specific sites. At first I thought it was my modem, that didn't fix it.

It's probably the "surge" of "stimulus" transfers going on. >.<

Shirik 05-08-08 04:10 PM

You won't be booted from the game due to DNS issues. A DNS server has nothing to do with maintaining a connection, only assistance in initiating it. Even so, you should be caching your DNS entries anyway so if you get to it once, it won't be down for a while.

I can think of no other reason unless there's issues with some if ATT's routers or something.

What happens is this: I get booted. I try to log back in but can't connect. I try WoWAce.com (which I frequent), but it won't load. So I try the official WoW site and it loads. So does this site. But Google won't. After 2-5 minutes, I can log back in but only for a short time and it happens again.

Not a DNS problem. Like Shirik said, DNS will only affect your initial connection. Sounds like corrupted cache or probably a routing problem. Check your router/firewall (if any), and if you're on a Windows machine you could use ipconfig to:

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
