Companion drop info.
Hello, I hope you can help me out. I'm trying to find an addon which adds companion info to mob target info. If you don't know what I mean, I mean when you hover over a mob and it displays name, health etc and at the bottom of that info box it will say something like Drops Azure Whelpling (I think in red colour text). Sort of like what the overachiever addon does, but without the symbol that it usually puts next to the text.
I have tried posting on other sites such as mmo champion. Although getting 87 views not one person replied, so this addon is obviously obscure haha Thanks :) |

I already have Collectionator, so unless I am missing a setting for it somewhere, the info isn't showing up on mobs.
Thanks anyways though :) |
I could have swore Gup Pet did that. I'm going to keep checking because it was either GupPet or BunnyHunter. But I know exactly what you are talking about with the pet info in the tooltip.
Edit: It's Gup. A thread like your rquest inspired it. It was so long ago I was still going by NickyJean at the time. LOL .. But there's the info. http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...d.php?p=160793 |
Thanks Tadedra. I already have Guppet and I still don't have the info come up, but I noticed on wowinterface there is one called Guppet (cataclysm) whereas the one I get from curse is only Guppet, so I shall try the other one and report back if it works.
Thanks for the detective work :D |
Collectinator does this...I should know - I added the functionality well over a year ago.

Hi Torhal. Is there a certain setting that needs to be checked for this to be visible? because I'm not getting the info show up on mob tooltips still. Thanks for replying.
|
There is no configuration option to turn it on or off if that's what you're asking. If it isn't working, then the data could be wrong - many things have changed since Cataclysm so the database may require an update.
Do you have examples for mobs which are not showing companion drops? |
I managed to get a Hyacinth Macaw from one of the Kurzen mobs in STV. I wasn't farming, just questing and one happened to drop. I wasn't aware of the fact they dropped the macaw as no info (I don't know if maybe because there are too many mobs that drop the item?)
Are you aware of Collectionator conflicting with tooltip addons maybe? I use Tiptac, but it I use other addons that require info to be added to the tooltips and have had no problems with those whatsoever. Edit: I also remember going to Wetlands to farm Dark Whelpling and killing Ebon Whelps for it. I have had collectionator for quite a while now. No info then either as I wasn't sure if I was killing the right whelps when I was there. Checked out wowhead and it was right. I might try turning off all my addons apart from collectionator and see if it the info is there. I don't see why it would conflict with tiptac though. |
Try Overachiever, although I don't think it works for every single dropped companion
|
I already have overachiever. And it doesn't add any info regarding companions.
I tried turning off every addon apart from Collectionator and sure enough the info came up in the tooltip. So it seems there is an issue with Tiptac. I just don't understand why my other addons that add info to the tooltip show up but not Collectionator. Very frustrating. Is there any way to get them working together? as I adore both addons. |
I use TipTac without issue. Apparently something else is interfering.

Ok hello again, I finally figured out the tactic to get both working together. First I tried only enabling tiptac and collectinator. Still no info, I however stumbled across something. I had to open companion window and click scan. It came up with this error. Now the info is there in the tiptac tooltip. I have to do that every time I start the game otherwise the info won't show up. The error occurs only when I press the scan button.

Gah. I had forgotten about the need to scan first - apologies. The reason for that is that not everything is loaded into memory until you actually need it (perform a scan).
I'll look into the error. |
