WTB LunarSphere Info Panel Plugin

would be really cool if someone could make a info panel plugin for LunarSphere.

Xrystal 07-06-09 12:46 AM

Rofl, having used lunarsphere briefly it won't be easy, assuming it is possible, as when the button is expanded it extends beyond the confines of the frame. Healbot is similarly afflicted if you have a big setup like I do :D

But, if like I do with healbot you just want somewhere to hide it when you don't need to use it, then assuming as above, it shouldn't be a problem.

Rofl, but I don't want to hog all the info panel plugin ideas :D So I will leave it a while to see if someone else wants to have plugin fun :D

I dont have LS setup to open extra buttons i just use the ones around the sphere for quick stuff

Xrystal 07-06-09 01:11 AM

Ah gotcha .. that shouldn't be too bad :D I'll give others a chance to volunteer while I work on the LDB update for 5.04 but if by the time I finish that no one has stepped forward I'll take a stab at it.

awesomeness (stupid word limit)

tinyu 08-16-09 02:39 AM

any word on this yet?

Xrystal 08-16-09 09:49 AM

I actually forgot all about this one :D

I'll look into it Monday while everyone else is at work :D

Well, first stab at it but it doesn't look good. Here's some screenshots.

They should show the infopanel before, the infopanel itself and the infopanel after.

The center button also doesn't allow you to move or bring up the menu screen whereas without the plugin it works fine.

There doesn't seem to be a single frame that binds the whole thing together so that is affecting the setup as I now have to figure out how to reposition the buttons around the center button and find out why the earlier mentioned problems are happening.

I used Lunarsphere for a time back when I was trying to make my own compilations. I love the way it functions, but let's face it... When using a more or less rectangular bottom console ui like nUI there's never really gonna be a "pretty" way to impliment a sphere-based action bar mod like Lunarsphere.

Now, if you were try to do this with Autobar... THEN you might have something!

Small hint made available by a grant from the Voodoodad Foundation for Not-So-Subtle Suggestions

Instead of Info Panel ...

why not work with /ask the lunarsphere developer

Bold items are descriptions from lunaraddons.com

Templates exist for all classes so that first-time users can have a pre-setup buttons without having to go through the process of sorting (this is gonna be facetious) fire spells in left side of action bar 1, frost in right side of action bar 1, pots, 1st aid and consumables in bar 2 section 4 subclass B part 1 dash a.

Ability to auto-assign the best water, food, health potion, mana potion, mount, and more can be set via special button types. In lunarsphere under a parent button one child button has a left click for the highest value healing item, right click consumes the highest value mana item.

All buttons have left, middle, and right click support. you can assign one button to (for a shammy) lesser healing wave (L-click) Healing Wave (M-click) Chain Heal (R-click) on one button.

Keybind support for all buttons I had read somewhere i believe on this forum to have your pet atk go into the wow keybindings and set to what you like (blizz default is shift+t) however lunarsphere can keybind ANY button that has a spell placed into it.

I'm not entirely extolling lunarspheres virtues, just that after finding nUI and its cleanliness/minimalism I would love to be able to do more with just action bar #1

oh and while I'm on my soap box, a GarbageFu like addon (drop greys/trash when you're not in town to sell) and an auto-vendor greys/trash option

Fraternally,

Xanz

Well, I have personally stopped playing wow and thus unable to do any addons but I know from memory that I couldn't get this working properly due to the way Lunarsphere is set up despite the problems with trying to fit a round object in a square area :D

However, if anyone is interested in trying this out I can send you a copy of the project so far :D

For auto-selling trash I use VendorMaster at the moment. It has an auto-repair function, too. And auto restock from vendors. What it doesn't have:

one-click drop the cheapest stack (like garbagefu)
auto restock to/from bank

I think i posted my reply in the wrong thread. My suggestion wasn't to get lunarsphere to work in the infopanel. I meant it to be to use/copy/emulate lunarsphere's capabilities to setup the actionbars within nUI.

I think that would likely be 'harder' than doing it from scratch. It could use similar methods for functions, but to use/copy/emulate LS in nUI would be a handful (well, emulate might work, but anything else is like double work).

i'm not looking for buttons/sphere like LS, just the ability to keybind ANY spell in the actionbar; preset action bars for different classes; left middle and right click support; and while I'm at it auto vendor greys/trash.

I personally have been using Lunarsphere in the middle lower part of the screen (Just under where my toon stands)

Why not work it into nUI there? Basically replacing the buttons there to give a setup that adds more functionality and expandability. Sure it wont quite look as pretty, but it could work into the UI well enough.

I personally ditched the standard buttons about 10 minutes in as inefficient, bulky, and just plain useless...

I really REALLY like how Lunarsphere works with all three mouse buttons (as it can cut down the clutter) nicely shows CD and activation, and the ability to open and close the entire bar with a click is genious.
