Combat log question
 

Hi, just a quick question about the combat log and associated COMBAT_LOG_UNFILTERED event. I think it's simple and likely is.. so apologies in advance but i can't find any info about it.

Lets say in the combat log there's an entry like this...


Now... does that mean that 1000 was the actual damage done to me and the original hit was for 1200... or was I actually hit for 800?

Total damage was 1200. You took 1000 and 200 was absorbed.

Perfect, thank you very much. The next part I'm hoping is equally as simple.

Is that number ( i.e the number for which you are hit ) consistent. That is to say.. Does it take in to account stats, active mitigation, procs, set bonuses etc or do I need to account for such things when calculating the actual damage that should be subtracted from my health.

That part I’m not exactly sure on. The first number should always be how much health you just lost, so no need for any calculations. Mitigation, like damage reductions, are either counted as absorbs or completely dropped out of the combat entry.
