Quests module causing pausing
Whenever I have the Carbonite Quests module active, WoW pauses for half a second or so. This happens any time I make progress toward a quest objective. (kill a quest mob, pick up a quest item, etc..) This is happening on my wife's game as well. It seems to be much worse when we're in a group.

Confirmed. Deleted variables and cache and reinstalled but this persists.

I must retract my previous statement. In the open world and alone there is no discernible pause in questing. In my very first dungeon I was having the pauses again. It's particularly bad in big pulls since we can be 'chain CCed' by the constant freezing as quest mobs die in a row.

In open world questing, I've noticed it quite a bit still doing world quests. If i have a big group, it will pause so long that the first mob dies, and when the action resumes, they're all dead. I think it has been doing this for a long time, I've just never nailed down what was causing it.

Yes, in groups that might be a problem. Ill will work on this in future. I think i will throttle some quests progression in groups that might solve this problem. But u need to wait a little more for this fix.

One thing that I noticed is how the freezes in groups are not necessarily because -we- have a quest. I just ran a dungeon I had already done and had no quests for, but the same freezes happened as the quest mobs were killed by party members who had the quest.

I played all day on a lower level alt (95-101) and had no issues (solo). However, today, playing on a max level 110, I'm noticing it doing world quests. It's less severe, but definitely still there. I'm not noticing it as much solo, but in groups it's definitely more noticeable.

Sorry for the delay. And sorry to say but if anything it seems even worse than before.
Just like before in solo play there is this tiny pause barely noticeable (but that becomes grievous if we pull multiple quest mobs and they all die at the same time), but I did a dungeon with a WQ and it was a full one second freeze when the quest mobs died. I might be wrong, but this is something recent, I feel that about three updates back this was not a thing. |
I have definitely been noticing it for quite a while doing world quests in groups. I had not identified the source of the problem until recently though.

Doing BfA quests, so far no issues, but I am not grouped yet.

I'm getting big pauses while solo doing the bonus areas at Druvstar. I'll test some more.
Edit: Unfortunately same as before despite deleting variables and cache and reinstalling the alpha. |
