program to reduce addon load time?

I wonder if it would be possible to create a program that keeps all addon files loaded onto RAM so the addons wouldn't increase load time while switching characters.

I've been experiencing some really long load times, even though I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with 8gb of RAM and 2 8gb scandisc cruisers with readyboost enabled.

If I had the extra cash I would have gotten a SSD by now. Unfortunately that is not the case and I know others must be dealing with the same issue.

Do you have AddonLoader?

If the AddOn has support for it (which is really easy to do), it will not load until after you are in the world. (Varies - it has class, delay, event, etc. triggers to load).

Overall, it will lessen your loading screen time.

Do you really need the extra 16gb of memory from ReadyBoost? From my experience, 6GB of memory is enough, adding ReadyBoost when you already have adequite RAM seems to make it slower overall.

I am running WoW on Ultra easily hitting 60FPS with 6GB of RAM. You should see if the ReadyBoost does make loading faster or slower or maybe it will make no difference at all.

Just a thought :)

When is the last time you cleaned out your saved variables? Every once in a great while it's a good idea to clean those out (there's only one that I keep, and that's Carbonite).

Also, take a look at your World of Warcraft\Logs\FrameXML.log file. Sometimes that will give away some culprits that might affect your load times. Report any errors you see to the appropriate addon author(s).
