Question about gathering database in C2 Beta
 

Trying out C2 Beta, looks good so far!

Got a question, though - I did a fresh import of the gathering databases of herb / ore / misc, and the placement seems kinda 'sparse'. I see there's a checkbox for "add my gathers", but is there any plan to either hook into a public database of nodes or allow C2 users to upload additions?

Yes, the plan is that it will hook into Gathermate's database rather then trying to maintain the same information they already do.

Does Gathermate pull node info a from a public source, or do you have to build it all up yourself?

Is there a feasible way to pull node data from a public source (like one of the wowhead/wowdb type systems maybe)?

If not, then is there any way that Carbonite could do like a zone-wide broadcast of gathers like it does for player position, so that we can at least build up our node databases more quickly?

GatherMate2_Data is updated weekly, and parses both WowHead and WowDB for data. Further, the authors accept user submitted data.

The project page for GM2_D only mentions WowHead, but if you look at the code, it has a script for WowDB as well.
