How to create a visible frame?
 

Hi,

I just started playing around with addon making and i've learned how to set up my files and make simple commands like showing a message and creating slash commands.

I have been looking alot on how to create frames and i can't relly get my head around it.

What i want to create is a small little frame that pops up when i type a slash command or just when the addon is loaded. Maby a little text in it and a close button.

Normy I'd recommend taking a look at ace as it simplifies alot of the more tedious things that every addon has to do.

Also in the dev kit, currently available at www.wowace.com there is a few examples that might help you out.

Sounds like I need to abandon my current plan for learning LUA, and change course to Plan B.

PLAN B: Listening to someone who actually knows what they are doing (AKA Kaeltin :p ) when he says a good place to start is by toying around with ACE and ACE Dev Kit ;)

I would also like to thank the two gentleman (Turan and Kaeltin for those of you who are new to the crazy world of WoW Mods. Don't worry, you'll know who all the Modfathers (I should copyright that name! :cool: ) in our community are soon enough! ) responsible for creating these AddOns and providing me more toys to play with. I'll do my very best not to break them while I am rummaging around tinkering with em :D
