:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

10 nanners!

Edit: Ok.. the new addons page with the icons.. fantastic!

Dolby 12-17-10 02:15 PM

Thanks, Cairenn should have the news post up later tonight. I just didnt want to wait. :)

BTW. We aren't done with the new layout. Portals will be getting an overhaul soon and there are still a few random pages that need an update too.

Haleth 12-17-10 02:25 PM

It looks smooth, but it's... well, I don't know. It seems to be a lot less informative than the previous one. On the main page, I miss the small box with all the info (although that might show at the buttons at the top now instead?). Addon download pages are very compressed, with only one picture showing now and the detailed information being hidden unless you click to show it.

Perhaps that's the design intent, but I don't like it too much.

Other than that it does look nice though. :)

Duugu 12-17-10 02:38 PM

It's ... some kind of broken:

Wow that is strange!

This is how my IE 8 looks...

Do you have any AddOns for IE8?

IE8, 64bit Vista Ultimate. No issues here.

I'm just not sure what I think of it. I'm definitely in shock at the moment. I used to be able to navigate this place by heart. Now.. I don't even know what to click yet. I'll probably come back in a week to this thread and post my opinion then.

For now, this will have to do for my reaction..
:confused::eek::confused:

Looking closer at your browser your running in compatibly mode Duugu. IE your rendering like IE6.

Witch does let me know I have an ISSUE with the icons with IE6.

Aprikot 12-17-10 03:12 PM

Who did the icons? I heart them. :)

Cralor 12-17-10 03:20 PM

I like it as well... but a couple things:

1) Is there still a Quick-Reply feature?

2) I agree on the AddOn pages. I think it got a little too streamlined, but my main request is that the links to Portal, Bugs, etc. also utilize the CSS button you are using (e.g. for tabs) -- so that you can click on the round CSS block and not just the link.

1, There was never a quick reply feature. (nothing changed but the wrapper on the forum)

2, Thanks for the feedback. I'll tweak the css for the buttons soon.

As for finding your information... (ie, what used to be in the little box)

If you look up at the top right, you will see a number in parentheses next to your name.

This shows you *both* the number of Private Messages and the number of updated favorites you have (combined). Hovering your mouse over your name will give you a new dropdown menu, where it has links to places for you to go, as well as the specific number of PMs and updated favorites.

Dolby temporarily forgot to add support to the "AUTHOR" area (next to your name, if you're an author) for bug reports and feature requests, but they will be added shortly, and will display the exact same way as PMs and favorites, only in the "AUTHOR" block/menu.

Cairenn's news post should highlight some of the changes made to the layout of the site. But that should get you guys set for now. :) If there's anything else that has been moved and you can't find, or anything else you have questions or feedback on, please feel free to post it in this thread. :)

The issue with the icons cascading weirdly on addons.php in IE8 Compatibility mode (and IE6) should be fixed. Still some issues to fix in IE6 since we are using PNG.

Goncyn 12-17-10 04:34 PM

The addon page still has the problem it has had for ages that it breaks browser back/forward navigation. If I go to an addon page, click comments, then click "Back" in my browser, the URL reverts to the main addon page (without the #comments), but I am still looking at the comments. It's a minor issue, but it's noticeable and annoying and has been around for ages. Rolling out a new site layout seems like a good time to fix it? :)

Google Chrome 9.0.597.19 beta

Haleth 12-17-10 04:39 PM

Thanks for clearing that up Seerah.

I've found a small bug though, using Safari on a Mac. The same thing happens on MMO-Champion and I reported it there too - I'm not sure if it's something that can easily be fixed.

Only the animated part seems to cover up the menu.

Yep, I had a fix for that with the new layout but ended up ditching it as it wouldn't let you browser back to a different page. So I'm still working on it.

The ads should be hiding when you mouse over a drop down menu. We have javascript that does this. I've just tested it again on my mac with the latest version of safari. What version of safari are you using? Are you using noscript or any other AddOns?

Ketho 12-17-10 04:46 PM

* I like the design *
