Disk space for PTR

Hi guys,

How much hdd space do i need for WOW Publich Test Realm? I have like 11-12 GB free.

You'll need anywhere from 15-25 GB free. Basically about the same as your current WoW install.

You will need a lot more space while installing to allow files to be unpacked and move about. This can be up to twice as much as is required for the actual install. I don't think 11GB will be enough, especially not when you've got a swap file.

Have you tried uninstalling programs you don't need or using Disk Cleanup to free up some space?

CCleaner helps, too.

If you're on Windows, try turning off System Restore, or at least reducing the amount of disk space it uses. Chances are you've never used it, and will never use it, so it's just wasting space by keeping tons of old copies of everything. Right-click on My Computer, click "System protection" in the left sidebar, click the "Configure" button, and either check "Turn off system protection" or use the slider at the bottom to reduce the maximum disk space usage.

Also empty your Recycle Bin if you haven't recently, and reduce the amount of space it will use. It's pretty big by default, so if you don't make a habit of emptying it regularly, it can waste a lot of space.

How big is your hard drive? It may just be time to add a second hard drive to your computer.
