Shift Key Issues
 

I seem to not be able to use my shift key.
I can't target someones name in the chat box to get info on them
I can't put items into the chat box
I can't install gems

Yes I am computer dumb, so if the problem is easy to solve......

Just on the off chance check your blizz options and see if one of the special keys have been set up such as auto focus, auto self cast and auto loot. That has always been the cause of my problems like that.

nUI does not use the shift key for anything... so I can't see how it would be interfering with anything.

Do you have any other mods besides nUI installed? Could any of them be causing the issue? Do you have shift-click bound to anything?

omen, dbm, mikes scrolling combat text, questhelper, questguru, atlasloot

is all, but I had no problems with the shift key until nUI was installed.

I don't have the Problem.
Scott can it be, that the Action button Shift-Click Move has something to do with that. I know it comes from Blizzard, but maybe ...

What happens if you disable nUI. Works the Shift-Click then.

I also cannot use the control key to look at an item equipped

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you exit WoW, rename [ World of Warcraft > WTF ] to [ World of Warcraft > WTF.saved ] and log back in?

Should I just uninstall everything and reinstall nUI?

Did you try the suggestion telepavarian made ? Disable nUI and then see if those buttons work. If they do, enable nUI again and try it again. Does it work or not ?

If you can always trigger the error this way it will make it easier to identify the cause and where possible fix it.

I have everything out of my addons and there still is the problem, guess I talk to Blizz.

Run the repair utility in your WoW folder.

I think I figured it out, one of my guildies suggested to just rest the keybinds to default. I did and everything works fine again.

No idea why it was messed up for.

But I want to reiterate I am computer dumb so I may have inadvertently done something moronic and not known it.
