Did you set your Addons options so that they're on?

Did you force your UI to load out of date addons?

Did you install the addons?

Do you get error messages?
What is it?

What addons do you have installed?

Dolby 10-15-06 05:41 PM

The problem is you left out some basic information any one would need to help you.

What mods did you download?

How did you go about installing them?

Do they not show up or are you getting some type of error?

:)

gjcire 10-15-06 05:44 PM

how do i set the addons

Cairenn 10-15-06 05:44 PM

Not to mention the fact you said the download isn't working. So for all I can tell, it may be that you can't even get them downloaded in the first place, let alone that you are having problems with installing.

Now, try this again, shall we? Preferably without the caps lock this time.

What is the problem?

gjcire 10-15-06 05:48 PM

when i downloaded the T.King's Elfwood for World of Warcraft and i thought it just came on

gjcire 10-15-06 05:50 PM

plz help me

Cairenn 10-15-06 05:51 PM

Did you follow his installation instructions in the file description?

Dolby 10-15-06 05:52 PM

The T.King interfaces install differently from normal addons. From the same page you downloaded from...

Installation instructions:
  • Save TKing_Elfwood1.zip to your World of Warcraft folder, and extract. Allow it to overwrite files if prompted to do so, unless you suspect there are custom graphics belonging to an addon (in any case this shouldn’t be a problem).
(PLEASE NOTE) When you select Extract All, make sure the destination for the extraction is \program files\world of warcraft - and not \program files\world of warcraft\TKing_Elfwood1\ - simply backspace over the \TKing_Elfwood1 path.
  • The .zip file creates the folder \data\interface with additional subfolders containing the graphics (.blp) files. To remove this theme, simply remove the subfolders beneath \data\interface.
  • Launch World of Warcraft.
If you have a question about one of the installation steps dont hesitate to ask.

gjcire 10-15-06 05:53 PM

yes i foled the instructions

gjcire 10-15-06 06:11 PM

i did wat u said but it didn't work

Cairenn 10-15-06 06:15 PM

Alright, post your install path, please?

gjcire 10-15-06 06:17 PM

Cairenn 10-15-06 06:18 PM

You only need to remove them if you want to uninstall it.

gjcire 10-15-06 06:21 PM

Cairenn 10-15-06 06:26 PM

/sigh, okay, let's try this from the top.

Download the mod. Put it on your desktop. Right click on it, choose "extract here". Tell me when you have done that.

gjcire 10-15-06 06:30 PM

i've done thatwat now plz

Cairenn 10-15-06 06:32 PM

Okay, now open up your World of Warcraft folder. Copy the folder from your desktop to your WoW folder. It will ask you if you want to overwrite. Say "yes".

Just to confirm, the folder that is now on your desktop is called "Data", correct?

gjcire 10-15-06 06:37 PM

it ddnt ask me to overwrite

Cairenn 10-15-06 06:38 PM

That's fine then. Now try logging into the game.

gjcire 10-15-06 06:41 PM

it did not work wat do i do now

Cairenn 10-15-06 06:43 PM

Answer two things for me please.

Was the file on your desktop called "data"?

You have a shortcut for WoW on your desktop, right? (most people do). Right click on it, go down to "properties". Look for something that either says "start in" or "target". Tell me what either one of those says.

gjcire 10-15-06 06:47 PM

no it is not called data and there were no buttons

Cairenn 10-15-06 06:49 PM

What was it called? What do you mean, buttons? How do you start WoW when you go to play?

gjcire 10-15-06 06:56 PM

TKing_Elfwood1 and the things u said to look for

gjcire 10-15-06 06:57 PM

i click on the icon on my desktop and a window comes and i press play and then i login

Cairenn 10-15-06 06:59 PM

It was called that after you extracted it? Okay, open it up. What's inside it? Is there a folder called "data"? If so, copy *that* folder into your WoW folder.

The icon on your desktop is the shortcut I was talking about ...

gjcire 10-15-06 07:02 PM

then wat do i do

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:03 PM

Did you copy the "data" folder into your WoW folder? Did it ask you about the "overwrite" thing?

gjcire 10-15-06 07:04 PM

it dint ask about the overwrite thing

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:06 PM

Okay.

The icon on your desktop that you click on to play. Right click on it. Go to properties. Look for "start in" or "target". Tell me what one of those says.

gjcire 10-15-06 07:10 PM

it said find target

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:11 PM

Above that. Not a button. It should say Target: "somethingorother" I need to know what that somethingorother is.

gjcire 10-15-06 07:12 PM

change icon and advanced

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:13 PM

Above that. Not a button. It should say Target: "somethingorother" I need to know what that somethingorother is.

gjcire 10-15-06 07:14 PM

sry but this is wat target said "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe"

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:16 PM

THANK you! That was what I wanted.

Okay ...

Do you have an icon on your desktop called "my computer"?

gjcire 10-15-06 07:21 PM

yes i do have 1

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:24 PM

Okay, step by step here.

Double click on "My Computer"

You'll see a bunch of folders and icons and stuff.

Double click on the one that has "C" beside it.

You'll see a whole bunch more folders.

Find and Double click on the one called "Program Files".

Find and Double click on the one called "World of Warcraft".

Let me know when you've done that.

gjcire 10-15-06 07:26 PM

i have done it

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:29 PM

Okay. Remember the folder on your desktop, the one called "data"? Right click on it. Choose "copy". Then go to the World of Warcraft folder you have open, right click, choose "paste". You should get the "do you want to overwrite" message. Say "yes".

gjcire 10-15-06 07:33 PM

ok i did that now wat

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:34 PM

Did you get the "overwrite" message?

gjcire 10-15-06 07:35 PM

yes i did and i pressed yes

Cairenn 10-15-06 07:35 PM

Good. Now log in. It should be working at this point. Let me know.

THUNDER_CHILD 10-15-06 08:44 PM

Thank you Cairenn for all of your wonderfull help.
