New Version?

Was just concerned as to when the new version of carbonite is coming out? I just logged in today and even the addon is saying "this version is very old. check the website for an update" lol. so is there one in the works? and possibly a more memory efficient one?
when logging into wow on many occasions, as soon as my character is about to load in world, my wow crashes to desktop with a fatal error about "not enough memory to process this command", now i know this would just sound like a wow problem, but ive gone through extensive testing with the addons i use, and ive found that if wow crashes and i just try to load it again, it will crash repeatedly. BUT if i go into my addons list after a crash, turn off carbonite, then load into the world, it loads up just fine. i only ever crash when im in the process of loading into the world with one of my characters....is there a possible memory leak being caused by carbonite? i know there is a pretty decent one with wow, but is this contributing?
but yeah....NEW VERSION :(

I'm getting the update prompt also... and yet, there is no update.

So did I. I have the latest release, and suddenly out of the blue I'm getting spammed to upgrade.

Got this "very old" warning this morning as well. Wonder if its just someone taken control of carb's addon channel on several realms, since theres been no word from "official" folks here?

Confirmed on Eeredar, same message, I'm just going to assume its just a minor mistake.

don't know when there will be an update, but to fix....

(always back up files before messing around with them)

Open Carbonite.lua file in notepad (notepad++ would be better)

Do a search for... 91014
(it stands for 2009, Oct 14)

change it to the date you want the reminder again...
2009, Nov 14 would be... 91114

if you don't know about editing LUA files, just ignore the message, it does not interfere with the addon's use

It's hardcoded (see above). I bet the developers wanted to update at least every 2 months, but didn't make it this time ;)

Unfortunately, when there is in fact an update, we won't know about it, since we either ignore the update message or adjust the file to no longer show it.
Carbonite is the little boy who cried "update". =]

Add Carbonite to your Favorites list here on wowi. Then go to your Favorites list and click on "Preferences" on the left. Under "My Favorites Options", you'll see:

There are two places where that number occurs. Change it in both places?

Orcs'R'us 10-15-09 02:33 PM

spammers using lua...?

PigtailsofDoom 10-15-09 03:45 PM

I've been getting the same message upon log in the last two days. Kind of weird.

Presumably only where there is an assignment, the other looks like a data array.

I'm going to change only x=

That is not the normal version update message. 3.23 was released a little while ago and will trigger the normal message in the top middle of the screen, which has nothing to do with that date triggered message.
