Attention Mod Authors
Please note that we have a new download category; Outdated Mods.
We are going to be contacting all authors that have mods in that category, in an attempt to find out what your intentions are regarding those mods - whether you intend to update them, whether they are no longer functional due to changes Blizzard has made, or whether you are "abandoning" them, in which case we will make it so that they may be patched by others to bring them up-to-date. Please take a look through that category when you have the opportunity, and let us know what you would like us to do with any mods you may have in that category. Feel free to respond on this thread itself, telling us what your intentions are. Emails will be going out in a week's time, as both Dolby and I are going to be away this coming week. |
For my mods in the Outdated category:
Auto Fortitude : abandoning. BestBuff is its successor. Parse : abandoning. Recap is its successor. (tho some prefer the simplicity and per-fight view so it should stick around). Turned on "Allow Updates" from others. ProcWatch : abandoning. Was an early exercise in xml. "Allow Updates" is on. BestBuff : plan to update this one eventually. Still works fine. Auto Inner Fire : not abandoning but no plans to update it. "Allow Updates" is on for this mod. Still works fine. Infobar Recap plugin : not abandoning but no plans to update it unless a patch breaks it. (Unlikely) It's an addon to Recap. My philosophy is to let the .toc numbers ride so that if something in the UI should break the mods then users can disable all the old mods themselves. So I'd say all except BestBuff, AutoInnerFire and InfobarRecap are safe to consider abandoned. |
Thanks for the info Gello. :)

Auto Shield. like auto inner fire, there is no need for an update. It still works.
Maybe you shouldnt move a mod untill you know it actually no longer works first? Its impossible to keep the client from complaining every content patch, and its a waste of resources to put out a new one with an edited toc file. |
/sigh
Again - we haven't said they no longer work. The category isn't called "They don't work". It is "Outdated". We moved them there to make it easier for folks to know which mods *may* not work, and for us to contact the various authors and find out *if* they still work or not, and whether or not the author is still supporting them, or whether they have been abandoned. |
Acui
Has been updated, and is working on an 1.7.x compliant version
|
Thank you ievil, moved back. :)
|
HidePartyPet - No plans to update at all. This was only valid for 1.5.0, Blizzard removed the need for this addon with subsequent patches by actually including the option to turn these off themselves.
ActionHotBarKeys - I still use this personally as it still works, and plan to add a feature proposed by another user. |
Thanks Brodrick. :) I'll move the one back and leave the other with a notation that it's no longer necessary.
|
FlightMap will have a new version for 1.7. The current release works for all versions prior to 1.7 (but not 1.7 itself).
|
Thanks dhask. Moving it back. :)

PetStats (all versions) is thoroughly abandoned... There is an excellent addon created for titanpanel that, I believe, does a much better job.. though I haven't played WoW in a month or two, so I can't recall it's exact name.
|
Okay, thank you for letting us know jjsheets. :)
|
UniTarget
UniTarget & AutoDing currently up to date... not sure why I've had the outdated notification seeing as they've both been updated since 1.6 :). They're both still active, as am I, but less so with work piling up *mutters - why do we need jobs... much better to just doss about all day *mutters*
Ad. |
Hrm, odd, I must have just misread the date when I was going through and moving the outdated ones. Sorry about that. Moving them back now. Thanks for checking in and letting us know. :)
(and yeah, jobs suck, dossing about all day sounds like a lot more fun heheheh) |
Titan Panel
Any idea if the Titan panels will be updated?
Thanks Bell |
No idea Bellator. Sorry. =/

Hiro's Bib Page on Press updated.
Yeah, it was broken, somewhere in 4.X Bib changed the way he called for a change of the actionbars. I changed my code to work flawlessly with the latest Bib and 1.7.
It also works fine without Bib now, but other standalone mods to do that (Pageoptions, Pageswap) have been working fine since interface 4150, so I'm leaving mine as a sub-mod of Bibtoolbar. (It's benefit is its gaurantee to work fine with Bibtoolbars, and appears conveniently on that page). |
