Some Suggestions.

These are just some suggestions I have come up with.

Add a SayThanks button to posters. This could help with keep threads clean and simple from people who provide fixes without 20+ people quoting and saying thanks.
Make the reply button only pressable when you hover over it. Currently, it responds when you are hovering anywhere to the right of it. Could be a bug.
Add some kinda IP filtering to downloads so people can't sit there and exploit their download counts.

Would this be a button for a comment and it would just count the number of thanks and add display it on the comment? I think that would be a good idea!

Witch reply button, in the comments i don't have this issue and on the forums i don't seem to have this issue? Maybe I'm missing one?

We currently have rate limiting where we only count the download from the same ip for a couple times then its ignored until a set time has been hit. Maybe we need to be more aggressive with our timeout? Or some one exploiting has access to a large number of ip's.

As for markdown it is not that simple of a feature to add to the site.
