Hey, is there a wow classic/tbc function that tells whether/what enchantment an item has?

Well, there is no such thing as a TBC server yet. For Classic and retail, you want the itemString from https://wow.gamepedia.com/ItemLink. From there, parse the itemString for the sixth argument.
