Friend list synchronization/player notes?
 

Was using AuldLangSyne. It's not updated, and I don't know whether it will be.

Features I want:

* Synchronize friends lists and ignore lists between toons.
* Some way to make notes on players to remind me who they are.

I use My-Friends which syncs your friends list and makes the friends window look alot better imo. I believe notes are built into the game now but I could be wrong.

The built-in notes thing doesn't seem to do what I want, which is put a little thing near them I can mouseover, it seems to be a separate tab.

Maybe I'm using it wrong.

1.) ALS still works fine for me, though it's a bit out of date.

2.) For syncing your friend list(s): FriendsWithBenefits

ALS is choking on the new friends window, for me. I mean, it seems to partially work, but the little note tabs I used to get are gone.

That may be. iirc, Farook wouldn't have gotten the patch yet.

Okay, dumb question.

How do I use the in-game notes thing? I tried "add note" for a friend, I added a note.... nothing seems to have happened. I don't see the note anywhere. I mouseover the user, there's no note. The user logs in, I don't see the note.

What does the built-in note thing do, if anything?

That's odd that you're not seeing them - the notes are now showing on mouseover in 3.3.5. This let me find all the friends list entries that belonged to my brother's crazy ex-gf and remove them.

AuldLangSyne has been in fact updated on wowace just recently and shefki says most features should be up and running.

For those that want working friends list (only) syncing between characters, FriendsWithBenefits still works perfectly in WoW 3.3.5 live (tested, verified here).

But as the poster above mentioned, AuldLangSyne is being rapidly updated on WoWAce as we speak if you really need/want all its features (I ditched it long ago when Blizzard added its own player-notes capabilities).

Thanks. I'll use ALS at least for now... if nothing else, until I figure out how to get at the Blizzard note functionality, which seems not to be stored in WTF files. (Which is neat, but means I'd need to write an importer to get the notes attached on Blizzard's end.)
