Homepage-creation sites, wow-related?

Hey there.

I've recently returned to WoW and made a new guild. I'm currently making the homepage ( at www.amendment-guild.eu ) and I chose to use phpbb3 as it simply is better than phpbb2. I've managed to make a portal work with a template even if it shouldn't be doable and so far so good.

However, I just can't seem to find any blocks, hacks or other scripts related to wow that works with phpbb3. So my question is if anyone could point me to a forum or a site that offers some blocks for phpbb3 portals or other cool functions on a phpbb3 portal site?

Any help would be appreciated :)

An additional question: How hard is it to use joomla blocks in a phpbb3-portal? As far as I can see, joomla uses php too, so it should be possible with some light editing, right?

I seriously do not recommend either phpbb's. If you want a more secure and stable CMS (easier to update security patches and upgrades), I recommend SFM.

If your host offers you cPanel, you should have SMF already there waiting for you to install it.

Joomla uses it's own scripting so unfortunately it doesn't play well with phpbb without extensive modifications.

I love (and use) phpbb myself and have for years. It's pretty simple and there's tons of resources for it, which brings me back to the topic...

Can you be more specific? I can think of dozens of things to put inside a portal block. Your portal should allow modifying your blocks, so what you choose to put in them is up to you.

Our guild website is pretty simple, and the only blocks I had to modify was for external Links and menu option to add Roster & Sigs. Resources include: phpBB, www.phpbb3portal.com, wowroster.net, and the beautiful WoWMoonclaw template by Maevah.

I'd write my own forum. But that's just me.

You could use vBulletin. That's what these forums use and it does a pretty good job.
