CowTip fix or replacement?

Somewhere around 3.0.8, CowTip started breaking PitBull; if I have CowTip loaded, PitBull doesn't load at all. If I remove CowTip, all is well. Fixing this is apparently beyond my ability. I did try replacing all of CowTip's embedded libraries with newer copies, but no effect.

The big things I miss are things like zone and talent information in player tooltips. I've messed around with other addons, but none have replaced this. I seek suggestions. Workarounds are fine, so are replacement mods. (I don't actually need about 90% of the features of pitbull, probably, I just like having very plain bars with numbers on 'em -- I use PitBull because it was easy to configure to do this.)

welcome to the world of hey ckk stop screwing at my comps! :p

nice replacements are Stuf very good unitframes, TipTop for tips has most all of what you need of dogtag, shows life, target, talents, but no stuffs like guild ranks etc almost useless

I use TipTop and it works fine for Talent but it doesn't look as customizable. But I get overload and like things very simple.

TipTac is far superior. I tried CowTip once and almost hurled.

Are you using the latest CowTip? It's not uploaded to WoWI or Curse.com. See my comment here.

I am, it's version 1.2 from Dec 13. I think I got it from Curse, but it's the same version number anyway...

TipTac's nice, but either it doesn't show most of what I want, or I just can't figure out how to use it.

I've had good luck with StarTip - http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...s/startip.aspx

It's not AS flexible as CowTip, but it's pretty good.

When I got tired of CowTip (and Pitbull) and its memory problems, I made the switch to TipTac.

And now, weeks later... I don't regret it.

Startip seems to be a pretty usable replacement. TipTac either lacked features I wanted or hid them from me.
